It’s all by design, IMO—and it’s been happening for some time. The Liberace/Vicente-Fox wing of the GOP wants to paint those who oppose them as bigots and homophobes so they can effect a takeover of the GOP. They don’t have the honor to go start up their own party and with their own platform. Instead, they will jettison everything the GOP has stood for and purge conservatives from the party. Then they can keep their big-government socialism under the GOP “brand” while the peasants enroll in one of McCain’s “retraining” programs.
