The Republican Party of the 21st Century is less of a movement with a coherent political philosophy than it is a highly dysfunctional advertising agency, one that has yet to figure out the concepts of "product differentiation" and "customer base". If Coca-Cola used the same approach as the GOP, their ads would convey a message along the lines of "Coke is just like Pepsi, but not as refreshing, so buy Coke instead". How much longer do we need to put up with such incompetence from the Clueless Party?

Here's another great one, austinaero.

I like McCain’s personal story of his military service. I try not to judge him on other personal stuff, but, his politics make me very nervous. I will vote for him in November because I believe anyone is better than what the Dems will offer. However, I say that with some hesitation as well. I am glad McCain has a temper, I think it’s great. It may keep people on their toes and it shows he’s a real guy. There could be a drawback to it too.

I am really more concerned with what’s going to happen in the House and Senate because that’s where the nuts and bolts of the country grind together. Crazy times.

Remember what Bismarck said!

“The great questions of the day will not be settled by means of speeches and majority decisions ... but by iron and blood.”

Yep. There are many intelligent emails in that mix. Some of these people are really clever, lol.

would love to contribute my hard earned money to the GOP for the fall election. Unfortunately, I do not have any to spare. My income and benefits have been depressed, and I am subsidizing large corporations by providing medical care and social services to their illegal employees and bilingual education to the illegals children. Did I mention that I had to pay $8000.00 above what my insurance paid when a drunk unlicensed and uninsured illegal totaled my new vehicle? Sorry, money is tight right now.

The presidential elections of 2008 are beginning to look more and more like the old Monty Python skit about Parliamentary elections in Britain from the 1970's. We no longer have a "Sensible Party" and a "Silly Party" - we only have the "Silly Party" and a "Very Silly Party". At this rate we will have British prices for petrol (appx $6/gallon) in a short time as well. :O(

I love Monty Python. I never thought they'd be imitating real life here in the U.S., though.

All I got was a black screen at the NRCC Blog link. I’ll try again in the AM. I read a lot of sensical commentary in the examples. Hope to read more at the link.

Also on the MM site, a list of suggested slogans for the GOP. OMG, they are hilarious!
Sadly, most of them are true.
Here’s one -
“G = Gutlessness
O = On
P = Parade”
or
“Blowback”
or
“We’re Screwed ‘08”

I guess we're at the point. We'll either go under passively or will have to grab our torches and attack the monsters.

Standing in a circular firing squad is what Republicans excel at.

We really do need a third party to address the death of the GOP and fill in the breach.

Not this year, but we got 4 more to go after this.

Re -election will commence January 21/09.

The RINOS need to go, the message should be vote out the incumbents.

It would really have a chance if half the voters weren’t sucking off the Gov’t teat , in one way or another.

Whot the hell isn’t involved in a “Program/Supplement”
in this country.

That must be “The Rich”!

Those who earn enough to survive....don’t forget to hate everyone else who has more..
SanFranNan will come smack you with her pinky whip!

/Rant off

I certainly respect your right to vote for whomever you wish. I do see a few positives in having him in office, but since I'm in Mexifornia, every time I even consider it - I remember he voted for SB2611 and co-sponsored McCain-Kennedy. If it weren't for those, I've might be able to stomach it.

My concern about McCain's temper is that he typically uses it against conservatives. IF he were to unleash it against the left, I too think that would be great. But, he's too busy 'reaching out' to them.

I agree 100% about the House and Senate. The worst part about McCain being the nominee, IMO, isn't the presidential election, but at how he will keep home so many who would otherwise vote for conservative reps! This will get ugly...

Interesting, but I have to wonder considering the rejection of conservative values at almost all levels, will this really have any effect.

Or will they dismiss the “disgruntled rumbling” of the unwashed rabble and continue steering full speed ahead into the rocks?

Only time will tell.

That's my guess. And then they'll feign surprise when the election is even worse than 2006.

That makes two of us if I want to be honest about it.

I have less than zero faith in the gop to get it right anytime in the coming century.

All you guys have shown us is how to loose.

LMAO! Now THERE's a comment that obviously came from a freeper. The pretend-moron misspelling of "lose" was the giveaway. Har!

I am a local-level GOP officer, and the party will more than likely not be getting my vote for president this fall.

I too am a county GOP officer, when my term is up, I'm done, I've wasted enough time trying to change the stupid party. McCain is my Senator, I've been voting against him for years.

It’s a BS comment that is ignorant of history of political parties. if you make-beleive your history, you can make-believe your future.

The Democrat majority in Congress needs and deserves to be dumped, spanked, harmed, crushed and removed.

Attacking GOP minority leaders is diversion from the essential task of saving the country from the depredations of the Democrat majority.
