Note bert’s tagline. He is talking about us.

Lose the bitcon thing bert. We are far from bitter. Your insults to people here with that newly concocted word supplied by Barack Obama, is not helping McCain and certainly has done nothing to help win any seats lately. The bitcons in these races opted for Democrats that came off conservative.

“Walmart stalks the world for the best products at best prices.”

Look, I am not going to bash Wal-mart, they have their place, but if you think they stock the “best” products your nuts!

Tools, clothes are not up to my standards. Kohls does a better job on clothes and tools and serious items for auto and boat care...well. I buy all that stuff off of the net.

No, going from a lending nation to a debtor nation and losing your industrial base is foolish.

I believe manufacturing accounts for somewhere around 17% of our GDP. What is it in China?

Who economy will over take ours in the next 30 years?

C’mon, we are handing them the sabre to slit our throats.

...And you don’t see that?

RIGHT ON!

“I got rid of my credit cards after I saw what was coming. One day these people could call in their debt. We are not in the hands of good people anymore. Their evil is on display daily on the idiot box we call TV.”

I have one (credit card), and your right, we are not in the hands of good people.

“I wonder if any of the GOP leadership read this website?”

Oh, they are watching it, but are powerless to do anything about it. Their Globalist Socialist Handler's won't have any dissension in the ranks.

It's the money people...!

Not voting for President is also a choice. Not a good one, but no worse than affirming one’s support for the avowed stances taken by the R candidate, McCain.

Do not disagree - cannot - that there are many reasons to not 'vote for McCain'.

Sadly, in this critical election; there IS one overriding reason; and that is a Obama or Hillary Presidency. Obama looming as the bigger threat here. Nonetheless, two committed; practiced Marxist idiologists. . .whose disdain for not only our Country and Constitution; but our Military as well.

For all McCain's faults. . .he is not an insult to our Military - and first and foremost, think we owe them a Commander-in-Chief they can respect. For their sake; and for ours. And McCain does grasp our Middle East problems; in a manner that no Demrat can or will. And as Liberal as he is; is not a confirmed idiologist. He will surround himself with people of far better calibre than will Obama or Hillary.

If Repubs; no matter their 'persuasions' lose the White House; our Country may be irrecoverable by 2012. A Demrat Presidency is close to a guarantee.

It may feel like the 'devil and the deep blue sea' choice; and if it is; then McCain is the 'sea' and at least, we can swim for the next four years.

I am not so sure that McCain has such a great grasp of the Middle East problem. He might have foreseen the problem with the Iraq portion, but he doesn’t seem to understand the War on Terror. Look at his position on waterboarding and Gitmo. McCain’s original position on Iraq was more of a matter of separating himself from the Bush administration than a real firm position.

But that’s not why I am not voting for McCain. I’m not voting for McCain because I can’t support his environmental positions. We are in a war with the fascist state government over property rights that they are tying to environmental issues and if I supported McCain, I would lose all credibility on the issue. I spoke to the man who is leading the McCain campaign in our county and he told me that he was thinking of quitting after McCain’s environmental speech in Oregon.

I'm not sure that the "Contract" was the dominant dynamic in the '94 election. Sure, there's stuff in there that political junkies, people you find here on FR and elsewhere, who will pay attention to such things and take the time to learn about them and digest them. But the "average voter"? I'm not so sure. I think the dynamic in '94 was a repudiation of the overreaching by Clinton and the 'Rats following the '92 debacle. I mean, here you had a guy elected with 43% of the popular vote and what does he do with his first two years? A massive tax increase. Gays in the military. Travel office scandal. Vince Foster murder. People just didn't like that stuff, and voted against the 'Rats as a result.

Likewise, in '06, people were just pissed about how they perceived things to be, given the constant drumbeat from the MSM about how bad things were in Iraq and the economy. People were mad at Bush and by association the 'Pubs took the fall. A similar dynamic is in play this time. High gasoline prices, the Iraq overhang, a belief that the economy is doing poorly (note, belief, not necessarily based in reality), results in a sour mood in the electorate, and that means whoever they perceive to be "in power" gets the boot. Ironically, it should be the 'rats, since they are more "in power" than 'Pubs, but they see Bush there in the WH, and so think that the 'Pubs are "running things".

And when the electorate is in this "throw them out" mode, it won't matter if you're a "true conservative" or a RINO. If you have that "R" after your name, you're going to get the boot. In '06, in my state (a moderate/conservative midwestern state), we ran a "true conservative" for Governor, and he got clobbered by almost 25 points. We also washed out a two-term conservative/moderate Senator in favor of an ultraliberal 'Rat. We also lost, nationally, "true conservatives" like Santorum, Allen, Talent, Burns, Hayworth, etc. So, running as a "true conservative" is no assurance of a win. When the generic "tide" is running against you, all you can do is hunker down, make your best case, and hope that you can separate yourself from the undertow.

The GOP no longer wants to be, or have influence from, conservatives.

The coming debacle in November will just push the party further left.
