Fake ID shops are a burgeoning cottage industry in every sanctuary city in the U.S. The myth is not believing that voter fraud is rampant among illegals, especially along the border and in sanctuary cities.

What’s needed is for some high-profile federal prosecutions of vote fraud, which was the point of Bush firing several US Attorneys who had been dragging their feet on vote-fraud cases

The truth is that liberals are afraid that blacks would stay away from the polls because they would be afraid that their ID’s would be run for outstanding warrants.

There's no need for ID for that. You just run the voter registration list against the list of people with warrants. If somebody shows up to vote under that name, you arrest him. If he denies that he's the person on the warrant, you charge whoever he is with vote fraud instead of what was on the warrant

There's no evidence that it's a significant problem because the system is designed in such a way that such evidence cannot be gathered.

There is also no evidence that ID requirements significantly effect voter turnout either. Notice how they don't mention that fact.

Actually your vote, since it will most likely be for a Republican, and a conservative one at that, is not as "sacred" as one who votes d'RAT. ;-)

There is no evidence that voting by noncitizens is a significant problem.

That's where we differ NYT. Voting by even ONE non-citizen is a problem. It simply cancels out the vote of a legal citizen. That's why we want it stopped.

The NYT does not believe in citizenship. It does not believe in sovereignty. It does not believe that citizens of the U.S. have the right to protect and defend our country.

In Florida, a Democrat named Rafael Velasquez was able to run for state office despite admitting that he voted twice in the 1990s before obtaining U.S. citizenship. Under Florida election laws, voting as a noncitizen can be prosecuted as a felony. Velasquez said he voted in the 1996 presidential election and the 1998 Florida gubernatorial race because of a "misunderstanding."

The candidate claimed that he informed election officials that he was a resident alien, but that they let him vote anyway. Miami-Dade County elections records, however, contradicted Velasquez's characterization of his illegal votes as clerical errors.

According to The Miami Herald, the documents showed that he falsely claimed to be a citizen (he was not naturalized until May 2001). Yet, no charges were filed against him, and his illegal votes did not disqualify him from running for public office. Belying the din of "disenfranchisement," the state of Florida seems all too willing to hand over voting privileges to those who don't deserve them.

Another prominent noncitizen allowed to vote in the Sunshine State was Sami Al-Arian, a controversial University of South Florida Islamic professor with long-alleged ties to terrorism, who cast his ballot in a Tampa referendum in 1994 -- while his citizenship application was pending. He, too, claimed the illegal vote was the result of a "misunderstanding." State officials have declined to prosecute.

Elsewhere, noncitizen voting is not merely overlooked. It is encouraged.

Whenever you hear liberals complain about the burdens of an ID requirement, you can be sure that they are not really serious about solving the problem of voter fraud.

You asked “Why is it that only Democrats seem to have problems with showing ID, but not Republicans? Even our elderly and handicapped manage to get it done with no problem.”

The answer is simple:

Not all morons are Democrats but all Democrats are morons.
