his policies are usually based in reality

They are both private citizens and have no policies. They have opinions. Furthermore, Carter could take Bolton.

Carter would be more like Bolton if he had any idea who the enemy was, who our allies are, something about the modern Iran he created, and that we actually have enemies, other than dem villain Jews.

Carter knows exactly who his enemies are. He hates democracy and free enterprise, and loves dictators and Communism.

Carter did well at Annapolis. Think he’s not one of the toughest? He doesn’t need a title or an office in FedGov. Don’t bet against him even if he is a senile fool.

Our enemies show a blatant disregard for this "line" in their open acts of WAR against US.

Iran hasn't committed "open acts of WAR" against the US.

They've funded and trained most of the Shi'ite groups, some of which are pro-US, and some which are anti-US.

Compare that behavior to that of the People's Republic of China, which sent in 750,000 troops into Korea to fight against the US during the Korean War. If that act of aggression -- far more serious than anything the Iranians have done -- wasn't enough to merit open hostilities with China, then this stuff sure as hell isn't.

Bolton aggressively works to forward US interests.

Bombing a few training camps would not further US interests. It would have zero long term negative effect (and likely zero short term effect) on the Iraqi insurgency, and could do a huge amount of damage to the US' position in the Middle East.

It would cement Iran's position as the dominant power in the region, and could make it nearly impossible for Gulf States like Kuwait and Qatar to justify a continuing US presence on their soil.

The mullahs understand one thing: Ordnance on target. We should accomodate them. Cluster bombs would be nice.

Saddam Hussein tried that approach in the 1980s, and the only effect he had was giving the Mullahs the excuse they needed to take 100% control over a country they only had a tenuous hold on previously.

Bombing Achmedinejad would be the best political present you could possibly give the SOB. And a narrow (and therefore impotent) bombing campaign like Bolton proposes? Even better!

Yes, I agree he is correct! But no good will come from it unless we as a nation are prepared for total unconditional war, and I don't see that happening. Total unconditional war only resonates with the US sheeple when the nations very existence is at stake (a la WWII). Iran is not seen by the American people as a grave threat (yet).

When has a democracy ever supported Total War when its public didn't perceive its existence to be threatened? I can't think of a single example. Even in cases where a democracy's existence clearly wasn't threatened -- America's entrance into WWI being an obvious example -- the public was under the impression that it was.

If you want people to commit to routine Total War, you have to do away with democracy.

I will add that Total War -- which presupposes universal conscription -- would never work in a situation in which a nation's survival isn't believed to be at stake, even in a dictatorship.

Just look at the Soviets in Afghanistan or the French and Americans in Vietnam for examples -- only a small, professional force can succeed in messy, long term conflicts that don't directly impact a nation's ability to survive.

I think a 750-lb bomb right in his window would be very edifying.

If oil at $300 and rationed for the next century is rational.

The reason oil is so high, a**hat, is because left wing people such as yourself think there is something wrong with drilling here and using our own resources. To let ourselves be held hostage for the price of gas and to let people be killed for it, especially Americans, is so disgusting as to make me puke.

Don't ever use the words American or conservative when referring to yourself because neither word applies to someone willing to have American soldiers and civilians killed for the price of oil.

Want someone to blame for high oil costs? Look at the Dems in congress now and the enviros whom they are in bed with.

If that's the best you can do, forget it. You haven't answered my charges that you put human life below oil prices, but then again I guess you did answer and the answer is the same as your original post, you do value low oil more than human life, specifically American life.

As I said, you value money more than lives. No bigger scum ever walked the earth than a person who put money over human life.

>"Iran hasn't committed "open acts of WAR" against the US."

I don't remember us overrunning their embassy, and taking hostages. I do recall their funding, and training, multiple acts of terrorism/war.

They provide, and train, IED's and mohamicide bombers, to use against US. We use soldiers, planes, tanks, etc...

War is war! The ENEMEDIA doesn't want to disturb your slumber, with accurate nomenclature.

In our minds it's blame.

But in theirs its taking credit .

They would like gas to be 4,000 a gallon.

Sadly, now because of their game ,millions upon millions will slowly starve to death in: Africa, Indonesia, Eurasia and Latin America.

As much as we hate the lefties comparing Iraq to Vietnam, there are things that do give one a sense of deja vu.

In passing one can't be faulted for thinking, "The wish of every leftist, who would sell their souls to make it a self-fulfilling prophecy."
