I think the real security breach was the fact that it was probably a co-ed dorm. I went to a Christian college. The women's dorm was a WOMEN-only zone. Any guy entering in the only entrance (which was staffed at all times) had to sign in and have the permission of a female resident to enter and he had to sign out when he left.

Bad people don’t respect “ONLY” zones.

They do respect a 230 gr FMJ in the bread basket.

Well, when it’s a women’s only dorm and it’s enforced, someone would have noticed they were out of place and called the police.

This is totally about the Second Amendment.

Kennesaw State University is a firearms free zone, but it is in the town that for 25 years has had an ordinance that states that every head of household must possess a firearm and ammunition. My daughter graduated from KSU and I never worried about her the whole time she attended.

It’s a known and well advertised no-personal-protection zone.

Allow me to spell it out for you......

The criminal element, from the inner-city, knows that the U of M is easy pickings.

Simple as that..

"We should place blame where it belongs, on the creep who’s doing this, and hope he gets caught soon. blown away and sent to the Lake of Fire by a well armed citizen exercising his 2nd Amendment rights...

There, fixed it for you!

No need to thank me...

"This has been going on since Ted Bundy raped tortured and killed girls in their college dorms in the 1970’s."

Your point about dorm security is well made, but in the case of the Florida coeds raped and murdered in 1978, they were not in the dorms but in an off campus sorority house. Security was lax there as well, but I put that down to the times.

I was living in Miami then and I can still remember the story on the front page of the Miami Herald. Crimes of this nature were rather unusual then and everybody was particularly shocked and horrified. If I recall correctly, a tree in front of the house had been recently pruned or cut down and there were heavy and thick pieces of wood stacked at the curb. Before he went in, I think the door was unlocked, Bundy picked up one of those heavy pieces and that is what he used to bludgeon the girls. He must have moved like a cat, because he managed to go from room to room committing the crimes, before escaping undetected. Later, a few blocks away, he attacked another girl. It's amazing that he was able to get away with so much for so long.

One pull of the trigger could also have killed the girl. Depends on who gains control of the weapon, and I’m betting she wasn’t the strongest of the two.

It doesn't take a great deal of strength to pull the trigger. The beauty of being armed is that it allows those of smaller physical stature to defend against larger, more powerful assailants - thus the term "equalizer".

Probably not, but others will.

Not too much, quiet.

“One pull of the trigger could also have killed the girl. Depends on who gains control of the weapon, and I’m betting she wasn’t the strongest of the two.”

Typical socialist response. “Can't have guns because the bad men might take them away.” Guess what? Many “bad men” already have guns and aren't the least bit reluctant to use them on innocent girls. If this girl had a gun, and knew how to use it, she could have defended herself. Without guns you condemn women to perpetual victim-hood at the hands of stronger, more powerful criminals.

BTW, sexual assaults are becoming common on that campus. Has the school done anything to improve security? No? Then the University is to blame for negligence. I manage apartments. If a tenant was raped on site, I would be held negligent if I didn't take steps to improve security. The school is no different.

Another sexual assault in the gun free zone that is the University of Minnesota.

Not to rain on the parade, but this was off campus, looks like up by 15th and Como according to the story. No law against home protection in a private dwelling.
