That clears things up a good bit. I imagine the volume change of the space behind copper during deformation plays into the ultimate projectile velocity too.

Sometimes I get hung up on details that just don’t mesh with my understanding of the world around me, and I have to figure out what part of the data or my conceptions to change to make it fit again.
That, I believe, is what being non-linear is about, No?
