That we're now storing sex offenders under bridges is hardly the worst thing to happen in the long struggle over sex crimes. Not compared with what happened to the victims.Common sense from a left-wing rag?
But putting them under bridges, like trolls?
LOL
Why not?

"LOL Why not?"...because htey're likely to grab some unsuspecting woman that approaches, or is in the neighborhood of the bridge.
They should have given him a spot under the lawn at a local cemetery.

I wonder if the bridge was the edge of the town limits and they were hoping he would camp out on the other side of the bridge, or walk away from town so as to become the county problem or someone elses county's problem.

It’s not only inhumane, but it’s too stupid for words. Let’s give the guy a reason to want to go back to jail by making him sleep under a bridge. Jail probably seems like heaven by comparison.

Maybe they hope someone will go down to this bridge and put paid to this monsters debt to society.
They publish his crime and his location during the hours of darkness, sure sounds like they want him taken out.

Hanging from the bridge by a noose, sans ‘nads, would be a better solution

That's increasingly the way it goes. Sex offenders are the new lepers. She fitted him with a GPS bracelet and drove him to the 88th Street bridge. "At least we could check on him," she said. "We could keep trying to find him a place. I'm sorry to say it, but it was the best we had to offer."
On the fourth night, he cut off his monitor and fled. So far he hasn't been found.
Don't worry, he'll turn up... or at least his next victims will.. sooner or later.
Build a town in the middle of the dessert, at least 100 miles from anything else, and let em live there.

What's the big deal?
A chain hotel in Astoria, OR is partially built under the Astoria bridge to WA state.
Their readerboard:
Where sleeping under the bridge is a good thing.

But it is a sign of a looming breakdown. There's got to be a better way. There is. Keep track of them with gravestones.
