No, he didn't. Nobody put you in chains or in slavery, you fool--you were raised in a prosperous middle-class community and now have a mansion in a white neighborhood to retire to. You're a rich man, not a slave.
And as for "this color"? You look like you've go a pretty pale color going on there.
Imagine the uproar if a white man had said this, any white man. Why do narcissistic idiots like Wright get a free pass?
” there is no point to addressing grievances and victimization that seem exaggerated and endless rather than empirically based.”
So very true!
I agree.
Yes, that Tone needs to be asked of Obama very simply:
1) Do you believe that the United States is responsible for 9/11 as Pastor Wright said?
2) Do you believe that our goverment created HIV as your pastor said
3) Do you believe that our goverment is a Terrorist organization just as Pastor Wright does?
Wonder what would happen?
Obama will soon all but “disown” Rev. Wright. It will be his Sister Soulja moment, but he will do it with a “wink and a nod” to the black voters. I mean besides, does anybody here really think that the vast majority of black people are NOT going to vote for Obama, even if he sh*t and p*ssed all over Wright? Please...
The only problem with this article is that it doesn’t go far enough, much like most of the other articles that are criticizing Obama’s Wright problem.
Wright may not be stereotypical of all the Black churches in America, but he IS typical of what is being taught in our colleges and universities. It is nothing but post modernism from a Black perspective. If parents don’t wake up and realize what they are paying for in the way of education this country, the left will have achieved its objective, right under our noses, using our own children.
The indoctrination of our youth is scary. Why doesn't Obama address how the next generation of black youth are POISONED by hateful, venomous, racist rants spewed from a position of honor (pastor)?
Why doesn't he address the long-term, permanent damage done by that type of disgusting hatemongering and indoctrination??
Great tagline, btw, mind if I borrow part of it? Thinking of,,,
"CHANGE"--a euphemism for further dividing this country racially, socially and economically
Obama is never going to address the indoctination of the young because they are his base. I’m wondering if the type of courses that are included in an ethnic studies major are what Wright meant when he said that African Americans need to be taught differently than whites. It is no wonder Obama and his leftist cohorts appear to be elitists, no one respects people that are easily led.
The clearest example of post modernist thought in action is the Duke Lacrosse case. For people who don’t fully understand what post modernism entails, Duke is a living example.
well written.
Yes ... and also I can't help wondering if Wright knows where some pretty nasty skeletons are in Obama's closet.
I think Wright's anger stems from the same reason that propels some women to become radical feminists: They hate what they see when they look in the mirror. (Rush articulated this in one of his Undeniable Truths of Life.)
A perfect example was the late Betty Friedan. Friedan had a cushy, upper-middle-class life (and her husband didn't beat her, as she falsely claimed to try to dramatize her "plight"). Yet she hated the way she looked, and she turned that hate outward and used it to create the radical leftist movement called modern feminism.
My guess is that this kind of self-hatred accounts for about 20% of our population joining with the Marxist Left, because it is the Party of Envy.
GMTA- I was JUST thinking the same thing- posted it on another thread in fact..
I mean- we’re looking at the VAST majority of talking heads- LIBERAL talking heads on MSNBC and CNN say Obama has to toss Wright over/under the bus...and yet there is silence..
It’s unbelievable that David Gergen- a huge Obama supporter said last night on CNN that if Obama can’t stand up publicly to the likes of Jeremiah Wright- what’s he going to do in the White House? Gergen said- he has to show some steel...where is his steel???
Hanson makes a couple of mistakes here:
1. Americans value loyalty. Had Obama suddenly up and excoriated his pastor of twenty years (and the man who baptized his children, presided over his wedding ceremony, etc.) Obama would have been exposed as a typical liberal hypocrite and laughed out of the race.
2. Wright's extremism is by no means uncommon. "Black power", fire and brimstone preachers exactly like Wright litter the urban landscape from coast to coast. Wright is not considered extreme by any measure in many communities.
Obama unwittingly set this time bomb twenty years ago when he chose Chicago as a good place to launch his political career, starting out in the streets of the South Side as a "community organizer", and made the political calculation to join Wright's church. He had no idea at that time that he would someday become a viable candidate for President of the United States.
Good points.
Last night I heard one of the CNN reporters (name escapes me) do a piece on his AME church in Washington D.C. He said it’s based on Black Liberation Theology- and did an interview with his pastor. The pastor seemed to focus on social issues- and basically offered up his excuses for why hating the government is understandable- the bottom line being we are a rich country and yet we do “not take care of our people”...
At the same time- I’ve heard many people speak up to say (and write) there is no one Black Church in America- and clearly not all them subscribe to Black Liberation Theology.
Finally, someone states that Wright/Obama have taken us a step backwards in race relations.
. . . and the logical riposte by the Republican Party would be to nominate a patriotic conservative black to their national ticket. That is exactly what Bob Dole should have done, if he was going to say anything at all about the unfairness of claiming that Republicans were bigots. Just talk was never going to have any effect.
And it should be clear that there will be a black on the Democratic ticket this year - if not Obama, then someone else as VP. If McCain doesn't want to have the story of his victory in November - if achieved - spun as racist defeat of a black candidate, he had better nominate a black of his own who, being patriotic and conservative, will not drag on the ticket even if he does not attract many black votes. Nominating a black VP would give the white guilt crowd permission to vote Republican.
Hiroshima and Nagasaki ushered in my entire family tree. Screw the reveruuun. He aint my brother. obviously. and he talks straight out of his rump. obviously.
“Obama went to this church, fed at this trough, drank deeply at this well because it is what he believes. Now he has to seperate himself purely for political expediency...but it does not change the man and still points terribly towards his judgement and character.”
Well stated. Obama is poison. The Rev. Wrong and Obama think alike. We do not need America haters living here in this country. I suggest they leave this country. I am totally unimpressed by Wrong’s service to this country, as he took an oath to defend this country against all enemies both foreign and domestic when he joined the military. Think about that oath.
Wright has broken his oath, despite whatever service he rendered. Benedict Arnold also, very ably, served his nation...and then went over to the other side, just as Wright has done...though Wright’s service was not nearly so able as Arnold’s was before his treason.
