I remember being a rebellious teen and post-teen, embracing that which made society in general uncomfortable. I liked to “rock the boat” and felt somehow intellectually superior because I went against the grain of the drooling masses. That is the modern lefty to a T.

I went to Berkeley in the 1980s. Tell me about it! As bad as you were, I bet I was worse...

David Gergen took the ultra-left position on Rev. Wright? But, but he was the conservative counterpoint to Mark Shields on McNeil-Lehrer. You mean they were both liberal all along? Gee Willikers! On PBS!

Wright has not been denounced by the elites of the Donkey Party because they are almost as wacko as he is. They most likely find very little to criticize in what Wright as spouted. They know blue-collar Dems as well as conservative Republicans don’t like him, but that’s only because they’re filthy, nasty racists who need the wisdom of the liberal hierarchy to guide them and tell them how to think. Darn it, if these stupid rubes would only realize what a horrible, evil country the U.S. is things would be a lot better. That is how they and Wright look at things.

The ‘rat denizens therein are hysterically lauding their beloved, race-baiting Wright as some bizarre sort of amalgam between Martin Luther King, Moses and Prince. ;) TOO funny!

Woooooooow! I just don't have the stomach for it, but I'll take your word for it. Helping to sink the Democrat Party, one stupid post at a time. Good for them!

Reverend Wright was not about to allow Barack to get away with that. He made sure to come out and tell everybody that what we saw in those clips was the real Reverend Wright, it was the core substance of his sermons. Blaming whitey, blaming America, is the very heart and soul of his ministry. He wanted to make sure we all understood that, and he succeeded.

Exactly right. And as a bonus, Wright gets to become the next Al Sharpton.

It's hard to put them in the same book, let alone the same sentence.

You should have heard some of the callers on WWWT (Burd, Doyle and Jones) this morning ... According to them, the furor is because Wright is "speaking the truth" and "the elites" will never allow a "person of color" or a "Black Man" (caps inferred from caller's vocal inflection) to succeed. That was "Chris" (IIRC) from Baltimore. Many of Obama/Wright's supporters show an astonishing monomania regarding skin color.

Yes, you are correct.

Re: Obviously lost in the emotion of the political moment, the people making the latter case don't see that they're contradicting their earlier stance that Reverend Wright doesn't matter. By defending him, they implicitly concede that he matters. By defending him in such an over-the-top manner, they suggest that Obama should be embracing his connection with this angrily verbose hero among us rather than seeking distance from him.

Well, this makes sense to those viewing the world through the liberal looking glass.
