"But simply drinking a beer or two makes it all go away almost completely." Sounds like you were born to be a drunk. Why fight it?

I find it a strange coincidence that the people I know who have it are all incessant worriers, complainers, and hypochondriacs, therefore I am not a big believer.

Have you ever been checked for Reynaud's Syndrome? It is a form of Lupus. The finger tip discoloration/numbness is symptomatic.
One of the problems w/Fibromylagia or Lupus is that there is no one definitive test or set of tests that diagnosis the ailment. So you live w/vague symptoms that are debillitating but don't 'show up' in any diagnostic test.

My arms go numb. My hands go numb. My fingers turn blue and get cold. Sure sounds like Reynaud's to me.
To: mamelukesabre
did you ever take any minerals for a consistent, steady period to see if this did or did not help?
To: blam
I know someone with the problem. The pain Dr. won't do anything until he hears from a Rheumatoid specialist that it's not that, and all the rheumatoid specialists refuse to see the patient, so the suffering goes on.

"ave you ever been checked for Reynaud's Syndrome? It is a form of Lupus. No it's not. It's a symptom of scleroderma.
With any disease curable or not we must take responsibility for our bodies. Why do people forget so quickly the impact of good diet and exercise? I know it is uncomfortable to reprogram ourselves out of bad habits but is it more comfortable to suffer from fibro or CFS? Not for me.
I try to keep stress to a minimum, I eat well, and I swim a few times a week. I am constantly learning about this ailment and try to stay on the solution side of it. Lately, the best info I read was on the Diet Supplement Information Bureau website (http://www.dsib.org/fibriomyalgia) I am going to ask my M.D. about the supplements they recommend by them at my next visit.

“Uncomfortable” you say, I say “Down Right Unbearable!” EVEN with an excellent diet including supplements and ALL proven treatments and medications. Some of us pray for just an “uncomfortable” day. Hugs to you

Not all of us are worriers, etc. I was super Mom. I did it all: career, kids, perfect house, everything. Until one day I couldn’t raise my arms above my head, or carry a load of laundry up the stairs. My body just wore out. The label of fibromyalgia is a relief to have. I know I am not crazy. The pain and fatique are real, and I hope you never have to deal with it.
