Fred is supporting McCain so why aren’t you?

Your little temper tantrum will only end up getting a Democrat elected. Can you live with that?

“Little temper tantrum.”

Nice.

Let's face it. Fred wanted it handed to him. Mitt thought he was owed. The rest were pretenders.

Exactly wrong. Fred is just another Bakerite. Don't expect anything different out of him than we have already had out of the rest of the Pubbie presidents after Reagan, all of which have been Baker 'big-tenters'.

Romney is as far left as any, including Giuliani. If one thinks he could win w/o the socons, which he would NEVER get, primarily due to his lifetime stance regarding abortion and homos, one has another think coming.

The only three candidates who stood a chance of winning were Hunter, Tancredo, and Keyes. They were the only three Reagan "big C" Conservatives, and therefore, the only ones capable of pulling all three pillars of conservatism to the cause. Without the Conservatives turning out in huge numbers, THERE IS NO WIN.

The rest, other than those three, were as you said, "pretenders". The lesson is in the sacrifice of principle, and therefore unity, for the sake of supposed "electability". In any other scenario, one of the three pillars are being left behind.

It’s hard to deny that it might be painful.

However, if there are enough true conservatives left in Congress, they can effectively block radical legislation, as they have in the past, and stall, if not preserve our way of living.

And we can still send a message — however insignificant — that we’re done with their arrogance.

“And what did our great nation do? “

I do not know, but I am happy that I am not there now and no longer have property in the US. I can be quite content living
in Slovakia, or most anywhere but in the US now.

I can’t stand any of the three candidates. They are all the same. That snotty AH McStain will not get my vote... I will just sit it out till America is shaken back to its senses.
It is like a bad dream.

Our primaries are done. Fred, Paul, Keyes, D.H. aren’t going to save us. Man up, be a team player, obey the rules, and start fighting the enemy, not our allies.

Good advice. It's too bad McCain won't take it. That's why I want full disclosure about his melanoma status. I'm not an oncologist, but it is a nasty cancer with a distinct tendency to spread to the brain.

Excellent essay. Mega kudos. Only suggestion I’d have is with the header. Instead of “Straight talk express is retired” maybe it should read “Straight talk express is derailed” or “Straight talk express gets FOUR flat tires”

If he became president, there would be no way he could ram another amnesty bill down our necks even if he wanted to.

Don't bet the farm on that one. Whatever reason exists for amnesty, it is certainly central to the Republican's agenda.

That kind of betrayal would literally be the end of the Republican party. It would never recover.

Don't look now, but we are there right now, and maybe PAST that point.

I don’t see McCain being so fanatical that he’d willingly be a one-term president who destroyed his party, just to please Mexico.

What one needs to look at is what a one term president can do to advance Republican Globalism, with no way to hold his feet to the fire. McCain is one hundred times more dangerous as a single term president.

Of course I meant

“stall the decline, if not preserve, our way of living.”

Just to set the record straight...

How in $*%&$ did he ever become the GOP candidate?

1) Open GOP crossover primaries 2) Winner take all 3) A liberal media and beltway FOX news that loves him 4) No sitting VP running 5) an unpopular sitting POTUS 6) an asleep Fred Thompson... too many candidates period.....the moderate floated to the top that is about why or how..

dragging conservatives along with it. Hook, line and sinker, we are voting for the "lesser" evil by "holding one's nose" at the polls

Be thankful then, for those Conservatives who will *not* hold their noses, because their act of conscience is all that stands between the American way, and it's total destruction and downfall.

Wardaddy, I agree with you, but the GOP had the opposite situation on nearly every one of those, and look at the mess they are in.

I just think it comes down to an uninformed electorate. It’s like American Idol, except no one can sing.

McCain will go down as the nicest candidate to ever LOSE AN ELECTION!!!!

His unwillingness to 'play hardball'--will win plaudits from the MSM--but will guarantee the election of President B. (whose middle name must NEVER be spoken according to McCain) Obama!!!

Oops, I mean the DEMS had the opposite situation. (doh)

Sorry for the mistake, but they are hard to tell apart.

No, it is about the TRUTH. When it is spoken, it rings like a bell. It is a clarion call for Conservatives. When it is heard, it's peals echo across the country, and into every heart. It is the ONLY thing that will stop the Liberals. It is the only thing that ever has.

Reagan spoke it. Reagan meant it. That is all it took, and all it ever takes.

Republican voters elected him. Remember?

Are you nuts too? Pubbies, donkeys and Independents against the war elected McRino, not conservatives or most libertarians. OK? Where have you been?

Whose Primaries are They?

...these three nightmares?...

Because US citizens have no say, no control, over who decides to run in our presidential elections?

No, because way too many US citizens are mindless, ignorant parasites who demand handouts and freebies, and who walk into the polling place and vote for big government to confiscate more money... from their neighbors. Look around at all the scumbags in Congress and ask yourself how they got elected.

“almost all of our ills can be traced back to Democrats... Our economy sucks because of left wing handicaps of printing fiat currency, easy credit, over regulation of industry, entitlement spending, etc. Our economy is going nowhere fast without cheap energy, energy independence, spending discipline and entitlement reform.”

The dims suck. That goes without saying. But it’s hard to blame them for all our ills when the Repubs had control of the Presidency and Congress for six years and only managed to screw up everything even worse than it was. Time to clean house and take back our party.
