The quote is only approiate to those who are savagely angry. I don't need to know any more about this cult than I ever had to know about Al Capone or John Gotti. The reason nobody ever tried a grab like this cult thing seems to be with Capone or Gotti is that their lawyers would have bitch-slapped them back to doing legal-aid work.
If I were a prosecutor and I had to make a choice between going after this cult or going after the guys knocking up all those teen and preteen kids out there I'd go after the latter on the premise that orders of magnitude more lives are being destroyed by them than this fake church. Of course any prosecuter could do BOTH except that, officially, we don't seem tobmuch care about lives destroyed by anyone other than this cult.
“Golly,
the had no say so in getting married,
They didnt choose their husbands....
so that plus them being 14 makes it rape.””
Please provide quotes from said victims instead of your presumptions.
I suppose you also "can't abide" the concept of taking Andrea Yates' kids away from her.
“In Texas, girls under 18 must have written permission from both parents to marry. Plural marriage, spirit marriage etc is bogus, and doesnt count. An unmarried pregnant girl under the age of 18 in Texas is presumed to be a rape victim.”
Well, they best start rounding up another 100,000 that are likely living in the state of Tx as I write this, and that is a conservative estimate.
It’s funny that people seem to be able to abide statutory rape and abuse but not rescuing kids from it.
I’m talking Texas law here-—
Plus there are those from other FLDS compounds who have testified.... And none have chosen their husbands. Those stories are a google search away.
Like the 14 year old Jeffs married to her cousin -— and why he is now in prison. That trial testamony is all over the web.
Simply put, an adult male who has sex with a 14 year old is a rapist. By law. Make out its a marriage, call her a wife, you’re still a twisted, evil perv (IMHGLO)
They’ve started with the first 400. Be patient, they’ll get to the rest. ;)
No, they won’t get to the rest, they have ignored the rest for years. This compound is a soft target offering no resistance. The 100,000 young girls pregnant and unmarried to the adult fathers in the rest of the state will be summarily ignored. What about the million or so illegal aliens, a far greater problem and threat to Tx and the nation?
I love it!
Golly,
what about the starving children in Africa, global warming-—
what’s that, over there, is that a bird?
Nice try, stay on topic.
well, at least they will know WHAT it is now, lol.
Once again “Who cares if the girls want to be raped by drooling old men at age 12.”
You are completely foul.
“If I were a prosecutor and I had to make a choice between going after this cult or going after the guys knocking up all those teen and preteen kids out there I’d go after the latter on the premise that orders of magnitude more lives are being destroyed by them than this fake church. This cult has institutionalized child rape to the level that they breed their own stock so that their household of wives can continue the generational mind conditioning to prepare the female children for their future use which as the convictions of their leader show, is called rape.
For you to win me over to wanting these practices to fall under the umbrella of religious choice, you are going to have to come up with a doozy of an argument on their behalf.
In my world child rapers are to be hunted, and when you find a group that is bold enough to create an assembly line for it, the least we should do is not fight for them to conduct their rapes as a religious right.
I don’t care how much this effort to stop this is tearing you up, it makes me happy, I just hope that the growing list of rape convictions against this cult continues at an even faster rate now that we have shaken the nest of the most elite ones and we are using DNA.
I guess we are on two different sides of the fence on this one.
AMEN!
Tagline material: "FLDS, an assembly line for child-rape targets."
I have noticed the same thing. I wonder if the mod should be alerted to this post being directly from that web site?
America is talking about teen pregnancy. Britney Spears’s baby sister Jamie Lynn, all of 16, is pregnant. The father, her 19-year-old boyfriend Casey Alridge, who may or may not face statutory rape charges for having sex with a minor, is someone she met at church. Then there is Juno, a satirical comedy about a tortured but well-meaning 16-year-old who gets pregnant and decides to give her baby to a childless couple who later want to divorce.
It does not follow that my inability or unwillingness to grasp your point proves your point. What was your point again?
Right! That you don’t like older men using younger women for sex.
My point is that I don’t like the State going on fishing expeditons based on either a cooked-up or phoney telephone complaint, especially when it means taking 400 kids from their mothers, when no charges have been filed against those kids or their mothers.
Want to prosecute a rape case? Fine. Gather your evidence and present it to a grand jury. Remember that quaint artifact of constitutional law?
Why would you suppose that?
