You pretty much sum it up for me. McCain loves this country. I think Hussein hates it. The witch loves the witch.

This is a game where—no matter which party wins—the country loses. Don’t be part of it.

What is your solution?

There is no solution. In case you missed the last 200+ years, the country has been in decline - and since Reagan left office, gone into even steeper decline. When the two electable parties don't care about the Constitution anymore (or only give it lip service) then there is no viable solution.

Just think of the education system - the education system that has been 'educating' the vast supermajority of citizens...and then ask yourself honestly if there is a solution in a country where almost all citizens have been miseducated.

Doing the right thing is the only honorable thing - vote for a candidate that represents your most important beliefs. This may have to be a third party candidate. Or, if not a single candidate is worthy, write in Thomas Jefferson or someone with integrity.

I think a lot of otherwise principled conservatives join these foodfights of elections only as a way of taking out aggressive energy and childish anger or frustration. Here's a wonderful solution that will make you feel so much better - don't participate!

In the real world we have only the choice between McCain and Hillary/Obama. If you choose not to vote to stop one of the latter from becoming CIC that's your prerogative. You will however be lying if you ever claim to support the military.

Do you support members of the military that vote Democrat?...or do you only support a [large] fraction of the military? Sounds like you selectively support the military.

Why doesn't the military stage a coup and prevent anyone from voting Democrat, and prevent any liberal Republican from gaining office, such as Hagel?

I support the military. They fight to defend the Constitution, which gives us the freedom to vote for whoever the hell we want to, and any member of the military would tell you this. A mature member of the military would not tell you 'you can only vote for such-and-such or you don't support us'.

Most wouldn't say it. That would be inappropriate. But it's true, and they know it. That's why active duty military voted overwhelmingly for Bush in the last two elections. They know Clinton cut the military by a third to a halr, something the Democrats never mention when they complain that the miltary is "overstretched". The vast majority believe in their mission, which is why so many have reenlisted, and volunteered to go back to Iraq, 2 and 3 times. They don't want to see their sacrifices go for naught. Compare that to the Clinton years, with the dismal reenlistment rates among officers and NCOs.

Obviously there are exceptions to every generalization, but that doesn't mean the generalizations are not true. Nobody suggested you can't vote for who you want, let alone silly talk about a coup. But voting for anyone but McCain will undermine the strength of the military, and render all the hard work they have done in Iraq in vain. And make no mistake, that will give a huge victory to the Jihadists, who have made our defeat there their central effort. And it will make things far more dangerous for us here.
