The democrats would veto “The Second Coming” if it was announced by Archangel Gabriel.

because at least one Senate Democrat is objecting to the following statements contained in the Senates resolution to welcome the Pope: Who? Who? Every day I hate the procedural secrecy of Congress even more. I can understand why Congressional hearings on defense or intelligence have to be classified, but why are the names of who proposes or stops legislation, who drops in earmarks, or who signs or doesn't sign discharge petitions held more closely than top secret military info?
If a senator wants to stand up and say "Congress has no business commending a religious leader" or even "I oppose the Pope's agenda and I don't want this voted on" I would have far more respect for him that if he sneaks in at night and whispers "Majority leader Reid, I don't want this passed, but keep my name secret."

So, why have it be by unanimous consent. Get it to the floor and let some demonRATs go on record as opposing it, or at least on record as being absent.

Because that one Democrat coward will not come forward with his/her objection to the resolution, it is fair to blame all the Democrat Senators.

So democrats kiss jihadi ass, and kiss jihadi bearded faces, but refuse to compliment the Pope.

"Whereas Pope Benedict XVI has spoken out for the weak and vulnerable, witnessing to the value of each and every human life;"I'm going to guess that this is seen as an anti-abortion statement, and as such is unacceptable to some people.

I have read the Book. God’s side wins. So the Democrats not only pick the losing side again. They are doing it in the open. Too bad the media is not talking about them blocking this, I bet if Yassir Arafat were still alive they would have no problem giving him kudos if he were on a state visit here.
To: yoe
Any chance the blogsphere can raise enough of a stink about this that the Dems start to take some heat? If we make them look like the religious bigots they are, perhaps some Dem Catholics will move over to Republican? Or perhaps keep some of their Dem donations at home?
Any Freepers connected enough with Rush or Hannity that we can get some national media attention on this?
To: yoe
So let the people of this country say “”Whereas Pope Benedict XVI has spoken approvingly of the vibrance of ......................................................................... the ultimate source of our rights and liberties, REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES SAYS.”
