Yeah. I always make a cheese-grits casserole with fish. Really good.

I would KILL for some cheese grits right now.
However, they’re somewhat less than Weight Watchers-approved.

Quaker does not sell yellow grits in Philadelphia, as far as I’ve ever seen. White grits, yes, and they’re not for real Southerners.

Vendors were also on hand to sell local arts and crafts at the festival.
Oh yeah, I remember doing the “Turpentine Festival” in Hazelhurst Ga.
Little miss Pine seedling, the Turpentine Queen, and people actually walking raccoons on leashes. what a hoot.

My bad.
Guess I’m not a real Southerner, I don’t recall having yellow grits.
Well yes I do, I think, my mother used to buy Dixie Lily grits in Miami. Reall gritty as I recall.
I use Quaker.... gulp

The Striplings partnership had a falling out. One group moved to a new building about a block closer to Cordele and across the street. They retained the Striplings name. The other group stayed in the old Striplings building and took the name Salt Lick. Both operations are similar and make excellent sausage.

It’s been a while since I was there. No better sausage on Earth than Striplings!

They have two great sausage stores: Striplings and Salt Lick. Yep. Got good jerkey too.
