I like your 'fruit of' description. And I believe that reference to 'apathy' does not require improvement at all, especially with your further explanation of its use in the following post. It is the most powerful of the three descriptors in that it also plays a major role in the success of the first two.

The local AM radio show has been talking about this today and all the African American callers are actually DEFENDING those statements. Of course, some are the regular callers and they also defended the rev (!*!) Jeremiah wrong and his G** D*** America, KKKAmerica and other sermons.

It had to do with reparations.

I myself am against reparations for blacks, for practical and other reasons, so when I first heard the story — I was a bit taken aback.

The idea was also based on a practice of the Romans.

After conquering a city they would excuse the people from taxation for a generation or two.

So the idea of recompense — through tax exemption — had some legal underpinnings in Roman law.

I think Dr. Keys would be a wonderful President.

One that the whole country could be very proud of.
