Yeah. My post at #19 shows what you describe.
Also, that pretentious POS who fancies himself as a writer knows a word...”tchotchkes”.
Seems to be about the only unusual word he knows, since it shows up in this excerpt from a previous article.
I sure hope he isn’t thinking of giving up his daytime job working the register at the wine store on the Lower East Side...
I think the word “tchotchkes” describes quite well what fills the space between his ears.
Maybe he'll get an award for writing about his mommy!!
Penis envy
Apparently you, not the author, drew the conclusion that “glitter” = “flair”.
A typical Los Angeles Times male skank writer, with no rank.
Also a momma’s boy or some other man’s boy-toy. In other words, a typical LA Times loser.
No wonder I didn’t see his dumbass in Nam.
I wonder what this wanna-be reporter would have commented on when that Traitorous, Rat-Bastard, John "The Snake' Kerry, appeared before a Congressional Committee in Fatigues wearing his full regalia of ribbons (some of which were questionable as far as having been legitimately "earned") but nevertheless, was illegal, immoral and unethical.
In my 8 years I served in the USAF (including 18 months in Nam) I was awarded 9 ribbons and medals and was as proud of the lowest ranking one (Expert Marksmen) as the Highest (Bronze Star) and for this "Armchair Warrior" to denigrate someone of Gen. Patraeus' stature (regardless of one's opinion of the war) is beyond the pale.
This POS, SOB WILL be getting a piece of my mind.
Ignorance.
Odd Coincidence, or maybe not.
I re-read the article, and could not find the word “tchotchkes” in there anywhere.
But when I pulled one piece of this person’s output off of the Internet, it had that word in it...very odd.
Best comment yet!
You got to wear what you got to wear. Military wear their decorations. The media wear carry their bags of lies.
Military fashion tips from a Morford wannabe.
Yes, I did. At first I thought I needed to sign up (I don't recall when I've visited the site) but there was an account for my email address.
I went through the process and provided the numbers they showed on their little grid. It went through, but I never saw it afterward.
Exactly.
The General simply wore what was hanging in his closet.
90% of what I needed to know about GEN Petraeus is from the Ranger Tab he wears on his left shoulder. The other 10% is gravy.
The twit who wrote this opinion piece wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes in Ranger School.
A few years ago, my oldest son proclaimed that he wanted to join the Navy so he could become a SEAL. I chuckled and replied, "SEALS and Rangers are Olympic athletes with weapons. And the last time I checked, there's no one in this family that remotely resembles an Olympic athlete."
I made it through Jump School, but that's as far as I got. Quoting Clint Eastwood, "a man's got to know his limitations".
Who was the brilliant codpiece that published this drivel?
But I probably would have disowned him a long time ago for idiocy and general disrespect. We're a military family, so he would have to have been a changeling left by the faeries.
LOL...
What is it with these people? I grew up in a military family as well, so...I suppose people like us just look at this stuff differently.
