I find this commercial extremely offensive. To compare global warming kooks with men who sacrificed and saw their fellow soldiers be blown apart on the beaches is sickening.

It's just as bad to compare someone who marched in a protest march in the 60’s with those at Normandy.

Figures, Al Bore had a hand in this. Look what I just found...

Gore launches $300 mln climate change campaign

By Deborah Zabarenko, Environment Correspondent
Mon Mar 31, 2008 9:10pm BST:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Al Gore, former U.S. vice president, Academy Award winner and Nobel peace laureate, on Monday launched a $300 million, three-year campaign to mobilize Americans on climate change.

"We can solve the climate crisis, but it will require a major shift in public opinion and engagement," Gore said in a statement.

(snip)

A longtime environmental activist, Gore chairs the Alliance for Climate Protection, which unveiled the "We" campaign with a series of videos, a Web site -- www.wecansolveit.org -- and a television advertisement set to air during such programs as "American Idol," "House," and "Law & Order."

The first ad likens the battle against climate change to U.S. troops storming the beaches at Normandy during World War Two, the struggle for civil rights and the drive to send humans to the moon.

"We didn't wait for someone else" to tackle these historic problems, the actor William H. Macy says in the spot. "We can't wait for someone else to solve the global climate crisis. We need to act now."

Future spots are expected to feature such "unlikely allies" as civil rights activist Al Sharpton and conservative preacher Pat Robertson, and country singers Toby Keith and the Dixie Chicks speaking together against climate change.

"What's different about this (campaign) is for the first time ever, we're going to be able to reach the general public in their daily lives through television, through media, through community-based organizations ... and online," Cathy Zoi, the alliance's chief executive officer, said by telephone.

How many non-believes does General Al Gore Jr. plan to gun down?

First off, that Normandy scene is offensive as hell. There's no comparison between attacking Fortress Europe and so-called Man Made Global Warming, oops 'Climate Change'. None, nada, zip, zero, zilch.

Secondly as to Normandy, 'We' DID wait for someone else as 'we' were not alone. We needed to wait for the Brits, Aussies and Canadians who also attacked the beaches of Normandy.

In any case, if the Brits, Canadians, Aussies, see this Ad they just may take umbrage ('offense' for those in Rio Linda) with this 'WE' stuff meaning USA only. They're touchy about that kind of stuff regarding WWII, especially the Brits, trust me on that.

It is now 2008, and temps have not risen since 1998. The basis of the global warming scare is/are computer forecasts of dire things ahead b/c these forecasts predict very high temps in the future. But these computer predictions have been around for at least 20 years. In 1990, or 1995, or 1998, or 2000, what did the computer predict would be the temperature in 2008? How close were they? If the predictions were close, perhaps we had better take notice now. If they were way off, perhaps then we can all laugh now. Does anyone have a link? Thanks

Everyone on that beach on D-day owes Al Gore a dept of gratitude that he's fighting the battles that really matter, so that they didn't have to.

Al gore is a bully and is setting himself up to be a tyrant. Al Gore is a bully that wants to enslave us all under a socialist tyrannical government. How is he any differently than Hitler, who did the same thing? Nazism was a catastrophe. Environmentalism has the potential to be an even greater catastrophe—a far greater catastrophe than Nazism: one that will result in the deaths of billions rather than millions. This is because it is the diametric opposite of economic liberalism on a global scale. In contrast to liberalism and its doctrine of the harmony of the rightly understood self-interests of all men, environmentalism alleges the most profound conflict of interests among people. It implies that there is a major economic benefit to be obtained through the death of billions of fellow human beings, that, indeed, the well-being and prosperity of the survivors depends on the extermination of those billions.
When bullies rise up, the rest of us have to beat them down, what ever the cost.

Doesn’t Lard Ass have enough money already without insulting the heroic actions of those men lost at Normandy?

Guess not.

Let’s start with the people at the top of the media heap. The people we can all watch to set good examples.

I want all media stars of all varieties to burn less energy than I do, and then I’ll start making some cuts.

I’ll gladly post my energy consumption at the request of any media star out there.

RUSH: The one thing about this that to me is encouraging is that Gore's movie didn't do its job and all the free publicity and all the propaganda did not do its job, otherwise there would be no need for this $300 million campaign. The really disgusting, distressing thing is to see so many Republicans get sucked into this.

A way to fight Al Gore is to file a complaint each time we see his propaganda on the TV.
If he cannot prove that there is a connection between mankind and global warming, he cannot prove that we can stop it. Therefore its FALSE OR MISLEADING advertising.

Filing a Complaint with the FCC is Easy

I used to laugh about liberals making decisions based on emotion. Then I entered the Klamath dams battle. They have literally turned emotion into a science. When the local Board of Supervisors asked when real, comprehensive, peer- reviewed scientific studies would be done on the impacts of the biggest dam removal project in the history of the United States, the answer was after everyone signed on to an agreement to remove the dams.

The environmentalists teamed with the tribes along the Klamath River have commissioned “studies” to show that dam removal is the more economical and better environmental alternative to putting in fishways on the four lower dams. What is worse is that the California Energy Commission, state Resource Agencies and federal agencies have bought into it.

Our County hired a engineer to give a cursory review of the “studies” they did on dam removal. They are completely inadequate. What he did uncover in their shallow analysis is that the sediment released from removing the dams as planned would kill the benthic community (bottom critters,) create a turbidity condition lethal to fish and likely distribute dioxins up and down the river - accumulating in the estuary. But it took an expert to read and understand what the studies said because the conclusions in the study did not reflect the actual numbers.

It is a purely emotional thing. We have even seen pro-dam removal posters in federal agency offices.

As with global warming, liberals give “science” a bad name and it is becoming more and more dangerous to the American public to rely on the credibility of any policy they promote in the natural world.

"We can solve the climate crisis, but it will require a major shift in public opinion and engagement," Gore said in a statement

Should you be surprised to see this from Al Gore? Al Gore is the person who said in an interview that it was okay to lie to people to get their attention to your cause.
