This article fails to mention the overwhelming need for more transmission lines that have been delayed for years. Build MORE power plants (coal, nuclear, wind, geothermal, alien technology), and those lines can be used more efficiently.
They’re building new lines that are currently only used for wind power - but can be used for other power plants to be built later.

Texas has it’s own grid and all of it’s electricity is home grown. If we are going to get some form out of state that would be a very new program. In addition, the Barnet Shale gas find, 72 trillion cubic feet, is just starting to pump serious amounts of gas into the pipeline - we would have less need from outside states after next year.
