"domestic political sniping"
A phrase I'd never seen before, doesn't even need further definition, and it fits perfectly to describe what's happened with Haditha and other alleged attrocities... likely more to come, unfortunately.
It's in Bush's power to stop the defamation and wrongful prosecutions... so Where is W? His unwillingness to Stand Up for Our Troops frustrates me to no end. Murtha started this mess and Bush can end it very quickly with a Pardon.
Don’t know about military law but I’m pretty sure in civilian law if a person perjures themselves in a capital case that person can get life in prison. I believe that is why mumia abu jamal’s brother has never testified at trial, at least in the subsequent penalty circuses here in Pittsburgh. Tell the truth and fry your brother or lie and spend the rest of your life in prison.
I don’t know that pardoning would be the way to go. A pardon indicates someone did something wrong. They’re innocent.
Cindie
But the question begs, isn't there something Pres Bush could do with all of his Executive Power and Priviledge to stop the wrongful prosecution of these Marines and our Troops?
The Haditha case has literally fallen apart, and we still see 3 men awaiting Courts Martial. This case just needs to be dismissed already.
Way to go Lancey, you hit the nail on the head...Every day i keep hoping the rest of the charges will be dismissed against the remaining 3 guys..
As for GWB i’d like to see what he is thinking..What is happening in his silence is that this case has fallen apart, the stone throwers are running far away and in the process the dimRATS are getting crushed on this one. Murtha is in hiding,Pelosi is shoving her shoe deeper in her throat, and the silence from the other RATS is deafening.
They should change their slogan from CHANGE to DEFEAT...They tried to defeat our President’s and our troops efforts in Iraq, but all they got in return is defeat at every turn they made...shame on them..
