That is great. I now have 10 helmet liners and 5 watch caps ready to send.
And I have one glove and have cast on for the other one. Just
thought I would send a pair to see if it would be feasible to
work on any more. Please let me know the new address so I can get what I have finished in the mail.

I went to the warehouse store Friday to pick up stuff for individual Christmas packages, unless someone else is doing them?

On my way to the post office to send a package to Bagram
with 10 hand knitted helmet liners and 5 watch caps. Have
already started on some more.
I also have some machine knitted Christmas stockings and
the yarn to make some more if they are needed or wanted.

I can help with sending Christmas things to Bagram, Patty. Since Nina0113 is doing goodie bags, what is needed — decorations? edibles? anything? How many are in the unit?

Pinging to our troop support group, Merry Band of Patriots.

We’ve been sending care packages to troops since the summer of 2001, and if your son would like some care packages to pass around to his buddies, please let us know.

We fill any request, including 6 foot prelit Christmas tree and ornaments, if wanted. For that, we’d need to know in the next week, as we like to get them bought and mailed out before Thanksgiving.

Please pass our appreciation along to your son for serving in Iraq.

SENClander is going to coordinated the Christmas party packages for Bagram. Deadhead will talk with her and help out there. OK, Colleen?

Nina is doing the Christmas bags/stockings for Bagram.

Nina, have you tried to contact Bagram? I can write a letter if we’re not getting answers to email. The unit is new there and probably overwhelmed at this point. Christmas is probably way down on their priority list, which is why we have it high on ours.

Hi, all! Updates on Christmas. BAGRAM: SENClander is coordinating a Christmas party for them. Deadhead has volunteered to help, but we need another volunteer or two to help send party stuff. Nina0113 is doing Christmas goodie bags for everyone in that unit. BAGHDAD: Daybreakcoming is sending a prelit Christmas tree to NPTT unit in that area. As you see in the email below they have requested seasons 1-3 of The Unit for Christmas. Cost for bundled pack of all three is about $90.00 at Amazon. Anyone who can swing that can get free shipping, and ship to themselves or me or even possibly directly to APO. BAQUBAH: Still trying to line up a new contact. ***EMAIL*** Dear Patty, Thank you for the DVDs and the candy. The last box you sent was quickly demolished by the guys. They really enjoyed the candy quite a bit. The address is still good I think the guys would enjoy The Unit [out of a dozen suggested choices]. The Christmas tree would be a very nice touch of home and would be much appreciated by the team. I have seen copies of the Die Hard movies around here. Sounds like you Auntie has been collecting stuff for quite awhile. I hope the housing inspection goes well and the house doesn't require demolishing. I'm glad to hear that she is being taken care of. My grandmother, about the same age as your Auntie, recently moved in with my mother. It is still busy over here. We recently assumed responsibility for the National Police brigade so our work load has increased a bit. I'm hoping that as we get used to our new jobs and responsibilities, the work load will become more manageable. Some of my guys, especially the ones that haven't had leave yet, are getting pretty tired. Thank you for everything, Patty. Sorry that I haven't been able to email quite as often.

For Bagram, the party stuff we’ll need is food and decorations! I know nina0113 is sending Christmas goodie bags. So to add to hers, we’ll need Christmas cookies and cakes (Little Debbie, etc), nuts, olives, cheese and crackers, preztels, etc., Christmas plates, cups, and napkins, apple cider and hot chocolate mixes. And anything else you think of. We can do this.

I was sick for a while and was away from my computer. Did my care package arrive in Bagram?

I’m shopping tomorrow, so I can pick stuff up then. I’ll let you know what I got later this week.

I’m not sure about your package. I know they did receive some things. Patty would know. I’m just helping her coordinate the Christmas party ;o| And many thanks for helping with that!

Many thanks! Airborne is helping, too. We’ll get stuff for a great party for them. I’m hitting Sam’s this week.

>>What kind of party stuff do you need/want?<<

This is what I sent last year for both party & individual bags. I just can’t do the party stuff this year but will be sending the 100 bags, though without the kid’s cards as my contact can’t do them this year.

WOW! You sent all that yourself?

God bless you dear!

I’ll do my best to make it happen. I have a few contacts I can hit up.

You want me to do the 4 boxes listed at the link, right?
