“As far as suggesting that McCain might retire after one term, well that’s just plain sad that anyone would even try that pathetic ploy.”

Maybe THAT was the d*ckheads’ way of “reaching out” to conservatives.

Let’s keep up a good fight against McCain at least until he is selected to make an acceptance speech at the convention. He has a lot of problems, including national security and integrity.

Politics is the art of compromise and leadership is the art of principle. Lincoln used superb political skills to implement some of the most cogent and insightful principles to guide this nation. McCain has used political skills to implement compromises consistent with increasing personal acclaim among liberal media and politicians.

The former is dead and the latter is alive, but dead to principles unrelated to his immediate personal advancement. Since leadership is absent from the Democrat and Republican Parties, each individual must make a way to manage commitment to principle and political party affiliation. Each individual must answer questions as to what extent, under what circumstances and when, if ever, do you forsake conservative principles to align with an enemy of your beliefs against a greater enemy of your beliefs?

John McCain lacks leadership for the War on Terror. His leadership codified the Army interrogation manual making terrorists legal combatants. His leadership granted terrorists American citizenship rights under Fifth, Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments. He thereby ensures information vital to defeat terrorists remains sacred and unobtainable. Terrorists are unresponsive to direct questioning and psychological gambits. Therefore, interrogators need all stress and coercion techniques our military encounters in survival schools. McCain embraces liberal orthodoxy considering those methods torture, but his searing experiences call forth contrary insights he must suppress.

McCain especially understands terrorists are not insurgents or freedom fighters; when captured, certainly not prisoners of war. They are not armed forces, militias, or volunteer corps of any country or authority. These killers are not members of organized resistance movements carrying arms openly. They have no distinctive identifier. Terrorists cannot even qualify as spies or saboteurs destroying infrastructure required to support military operations. McCain understands Geneva Conventions intended to isolate such forces, provide them no protections, and allow destruction with any overwhelming furies needed to crush their abominations.

McCain especially appreciates that laws guaranteeing civil liberties presuppose operation within an invincible society. The Federal government’s primary responsibility is to pursue Alexander Hamilton’s admonition that powers exist without limitation; providing capabilities thwarting dangers as well as repelling attacks. McCain understands powerful warfare capabilities require potent intelligence acquisition and exploitation before and during campaigns.

McCain continually seeks popular advancement by placating those coveting luxurious morality requiring shelter from hard choices and danger awareness. His crime is repudiating military and intelligence professionals facing hard choices when confronting shrewd, ruthless enemies obscured behind frightening uncertainties.

John McCain succumbed to the terrible addiction of political power. The same addiction expressed itself differently in fellow Navy officer Randy Cunningham, who was the Navy’s first Vietnam ace. Over the decades the honor and moral authority of both were gradually traded away for influence in the political arena. To me McCain is like a cadaver prepared for viewing. The removal of blood and organs equates to the trading away of honor and moral authority. The reputation that remains is like the cosmetics applied for viewing the corpse at the funeral. It is easy for anyone to get onto the same sort of gently downward sloping path. The final result is tragic, but we do not need a modern day Macbeth or Hamlet as President.

Honestly, RKBA Democrat, if the philosophical differences between Barack Obama and John McCain are not obvious to you...there's nothing I could say.

Eggxactly, cripplecreek! There is NO guarantee that a Romney VP pick would ensure that McAmnesty wouldn’t want to stay on on in 2012 at 76. My gut feeling is, he would run for re-=election and lose a la old man Bush...and Romney would be left with nothing.

Conservatives holding their noses and pulling the lever for McNasty hoping he’ll die in office, thereby giving Romney the Presidency is a joke.

Initially, he voted against Bush’s tax cuts, but that was because he wanted them tied to cuts in spending. However, when he lost that battle, he voted to make the tax cuts permanent.

McCain is no friend of people wanting lower taxes. The following is his real record. Don't be fooled by him saying now he wants the tax cuts permanent.

Taxes

1. Tax Cut Rules S Con Res 83 (Roll Call 38) The Senate defeated a change in its rules that would have required a 60-vote majority to cut taxes in the future. ACU opposed this rules change, which was defeated on a 50-50 vote on March 14, 2006.

McCain voted to require a 60 vote majority.

2. Tax Cuts -- Fiscal 2006 Budget Resolution. S Con Res 18 (Roll Call 59) The Senate rejected an amendment striking language in the budget resolution protecting tax cuts. ACU opposed this amendment, which was rejected 49-51 on March 17, 2005.

McCain voted to strike language that protected tax cuts.

3. Tax Increases on Oil and Gas Development -- Tax Relief Act of 2005. S 2020 (Roll Call 332) The Senate rejected a procedural motion on an amendment that would have raised taxes on oil and gas development. ACU opposed the motion. The motion was rejected 48-51 on November 17, 2005 (60 votes would have been required under Senate rules).

McCain voted to raise taxes.

4. Budget Procedures. S Con Res 95 (Roll Call 38) The Senate adopted an amendment establishing rules to make it much more difficult to cut taxes. The bill was passed (51-48) ACU opposed this bill (2004)

McCain voted to make it more difficult to cut taxes.

5. Budget Resolution. S. Con. Res. 23 (Roll Call 134) The Senate adopted final spending and revenue targets for fiscal year 2004. This budget contained a total of $550 billion in tax cuts over a ten-year period. ACU supported this budget as the best possible under the circumstances. It was adopted 50-50, The bill was passed (50-50) ACU supported this bill (2003)

McCain voted against tax cuts.

6. Taxes on Investment. S. 1054 (Roll Call 171) This amendment would phase out the tax on dividend income. Taxing dividends is a form of double taxation that discourages investment. ACU supported this amendment. It was adopted by a vote of 50-50, with the vice-president casting a tie-breaking vote on The bill was passed (50-50) ACU supported this bill (2003)

McCain voted against tax cuts.

7. Tax Cuts. HR 2 (Roll Call 179) This bill reduced taxes by $350 billion over 11 years, phasing out dividend taxation and accelerating tax rate reductions already in place. While not strong enough, this bill set up passage of a stronger House-Senate conference report with more tax relie The bill was passed (51-49) (2003)

McCain voted against tax cuts.

8. Death Tax Repeal Permanent. HR 8 (Roll Call 151) The motion would make the repeal of the estate or death tax passed in 2001 permanent. ACU supported this effort, which received a 54-44 vote majority on 12 June 2002, but Senate rules require 60 votes under the Budget Act. The bill was defeated (54-44) ACU supported this bill (2002)

McCain voted against tax cuts.

9. Accelerated Elimination of Marriage Penalty. HR 1836 (roll call 113) Hutchison (R-TX) amendment to the tax cut bill that would accelerate the elimination of the so-called “marriage penalty” in the standard deduction, so that it would be fully phased out in 2002. ACU supported the accelerated phase-out of the penalty, but it was defeated 27-73, 17 May 2001.

McCain voted against phasing out marriage penalty.

10. Tax Cut Bill. HR 1836 (roll call 170) Adoption of the final version of the tax cut bill, reducing taxes by $1.35 trillion through 2010 through income tax rate cuts, relief of the “marriage penalty,” a phase-out of the federal estate tax, doubling the child tax credit, and providing incentives for retirement savings. ACU supported this bill, which passed 58-33, 26 May 2001.

McCain voted against tax cuts.

11. Tax Cuts, S.Con.Res. 101 (Roll Call Vote No. 68) The Senate defeated an amendment deleting all tax cuts in the Congressional Budget Resolution. The vote was 44-56, 7 Apr. 2000. ACU opposed the amendment.

McCain voted against tax cuts.

12. TOBACCO TAX INCREASE. S1415 (roll call vote 143). Kerry (D-MA) motion to table (kill) the Ashcroft (R-MO) amendment to the Kennedy (D-MA) amendment to the modified Senate Commerce Committee substitute amendment. The Ashcroft amendment would strike all provisions from the bill concerning an increase of tobacco taxes. Motion agreed to 72-26, May 20, 1998. ACU opposed the motion to table.

McCain voted to increase tobacco taxes.

You can be patriotic by NOT voting—it is your choice and God given right. Don’t be ashamed not to vote. A lot of conservatives are going to not vote for Prez but will vote their conservative running for Congress and Senate.

The CP is trying to put a shine on its image as a party without a leader and a party that will not be on all 50 states’ ballots. They are begging for $$$.

The Falcon Party is apparently a party of bird enthusiasts or Humphrey Bogart/Sidney Greenstreet/Peter Lorre fans. They’re a Christian-only party that isn’t going anywhere.

American third parties are a joke right now. Eventually, a conservative-only party that is open to non-Christians will be formed, but don’t hold your breath.

McCain is not an acceptable candidate. He is the worst candidate the Republican party has ever nominated, since 1860.

He may be close to the last candidate the Republican party will nominate. MxCain will clearly push through amnesty for the illegals. Once that occurs and their are 30 million or more voting, all other issues are non-starters. It will be socialism first and then moving on into full blatant communism via the stealth Communist Party, the Democrats.

Then it will be bye-bye America and hello ДMЗЯICД
