White voters: 520 interviews, +/- 4.3%

African-American voters: 177 interviews, +/- 7.4%

Err.. tell me if I’m wrong but I believe that AA ARE oversampled by more tha 2X

What I don’t understand then is why they only show 520 white voters in their sample. How do they get to the 700 if they are only adding in 77 of their black voters?

Why is that? Is voting the ONLY thing they are good at? Voting 24/7 won’t find them a job!

“During election 2006, Taylor worked for The Patriot Project and was an official web strategist for John Kerry's PAC, Keeping America’s Promise”

How do you say it? Busted!

I saw this poll quoted earlier on the Lucianne.com board. Most of those commenters didn’t believe it either.

I knew something was up because for anyone to claim that the Revrun Wright story hasn’t hurt Obama is to lie like a lying dog on a rug. Forgive my mixed metaphors.

No way, Jose, is the Revrun Wright thing not going to hurt Obama....no way, no way. White people, no matter what they may tell the pollsters, are NOT going to vote for Obama.

I’m telling you, with the ethylonol scam using up all the corn crop and this Dem tragedy of a primary, this country’s going to run out of popcorn by the August conventions.

The main sample for the survey was a cross section of 700 registered voters nationally.

That, for starters, makes me think this poll was never meant to be accurate.

I'm not a statistician, but I remember hearing one say that political polls with fewer than 800 respondents were practically worthless.

“I wonder how her campaign knew to look at the sampling technique? I wonder why no one in the MSM ever questions the sample methods when a Republican is shown to be behind in the polls?”

So all these polls showing “Bush’s popularity lowest ever ...” are oversampling Democrats too?

Nah, they wouldn’t do that.

Of course this also means that instead of being in a statistical tie with Hussein or Clinton McCain leads by about five points.

Yup, the fine, fine beloved Republican candidate John McCain, so respected by all aspects of his political party that his supporters cheer in the streets and strew dollar bills at his feet, gets a boost from Obama and the Revrun Wright train wreck.

So yesterday he goes out and says America will need a new Kyoto treaty and the overjoyed Republican masses gasp in the sheer joy of this fine man’s timing.

Because if John McCain opens his mouth he will say something to anger everybody.

The mnore people find out about the truth of Wright and Obama's core beliefs as preached at the Trinity church, the more negative impact it will have on Obama. As well it should.

Today’s Rasmussen survey:

Looking ahead to the General Election in November, John McCain continues to lead both potential Democratic opponents. McCain leads Barack Obama 51% to 41% and Hillary Clinton 51% to 41% (see recent daily results). McCain is now viewed favorably by 56% of voters nationwide and unfavorably by 41%. Obama’s reviews are 46% favorable and 52% unfavorable. For Clinton, those numbers are 44% favorable, 54% unfavorable (see recent daily results).

If I have learned nothing from my fine friends the Clintons, it’s that polls are great tools to manipulate the masses.

And I knew, I knew with every instinctive cell in my body, that if the Obama political crowd knew the value (and destructiveness) of published polls that soon they were going to have to do SOMETHING to avoid blaring cable news and newspaper headlines shouting the drop in Obama’s popularity.

I expected a bogus poll and I suspected that this very one was it. Only thing it was co-sponsored by the WSJ so it made me wary.

Because it’s bound to happen, it’s bound to happen as sure as the April rains will come. Obama’s ratings are going to drop and I suppose he hopes that the brouhaha will blow over.

It won’t. Obama is toast.

Of course this also means that instead of being in a statistical tie with Hussein or Clinton McCain leads by about five points.

Scott Rasmussen has it as McCain by 10 -- Google "Bradley Effect" -- I think libs and Dems are more likely to lie to a live pollster than an automated poll. Add 5 for statistical manipulation and another 5 for lying libs and they're about the same.

I don't think the NBC/WSJ poll was among the best in 2004.

If whites vote the same percentage AAs vote, there’s NO WAY in HELL they will have the kind of impact on politics they are enjoying now.

If you read the methodology of most polls they all over sample African Americans. They do this because they say African Americans vote in a larger percentage in relation to their percentage of the population.

Yeah, many of them vote several times. Detroit and Philadelphia have precincts (mostly black) where voter turnout numbers are frequently 125% and higher.

In 2004, turnout rates for citizens were 67 percent for non-Hispanic whites, 60 percent for blacks, 44 percent for Asians and 47 percent for Hispanics (of any race).
