Fox’s Julianna Margulies drama “Canterbury’s Law,” struck out with viewers.
What a vile pos this excuse of a show was/is. My wife tuned out at the second commercial break. I stuck it through, but will not watch it again.
A female relative wondered in Hilliarily was a role model for the B$tch lead in Canterbury’s Law.
Maybe people are just sick and tired of lawyers, doctors, and cops?
Eli Stone may turned out to be a good show.
Out here liberals, liberal lawyers and athesists are complaining about the show.
“Maybe they would then break out some of the good old Gunsmoke, Have Gun Will Travel, etc episodes.”
TV Land shows episodes of Gunsmoke, Bonanza, I Love Lucy, Leave It to Beaver, Andy Griffith, among others. Wish they would show Have Gun Will Travel! It is about the only channel I watch. The other one is TCM for movies from the 30’s and 40’s (and some great silent ones, too).
It’d be a lot easier to get into, and stay into network shows, even good ones like “House”, if you could count on a solid 12 or 14 new episodes in a row - rather than interupting the season with 4 (or more) weeks of re-runs in the middle of things, which by the time they end you’ve lost interest in the show, or at least forgotten to watch it. I don’t know why they can’t show the whole season in consecutive weeks, and then run all the shows consecutively again.
FWIW, I really like “Heroes” last year, but just couldn’t get into this year. To my mind it would have helped if they could have left “Sylar” dead - too much of that stuff (unkillable villains, like in a B-movie horror flick) just cheeses me off.

Weak Wednesday
for broadcast, again
Low ratings for reality and reruns on Big Three
By Toni Fitzgerald
Mar 27, 2008
With reruns and reality shows dotting their schedules, the Big Three had another somewhat grim Wednesday.
ABC, CBS and NBC combined for just a 5.6 rating and 15 share last night, according to Nielsen overnights, 21 percent behind Foxs winning 6.8/19. All three were down from the previous week, but none have performed particularly well on Wednesdays of late.
The Big Threes schedules are still dotted with programming left over from the recent writers strike. Though ABC had a full slate of originals, taking second for the night with a 2.0/5, only one of its programs rated above a 2.2, the 8 p.m. Wife Swap.

Cable rides high
during worst of strike
Twenty-six networks grew by 10 percent or more
By Toni Fitzgerald

The recently ended writers strike, a disaster for broadcast, turns out to have been a boon for cable.
Cable network viewing soared during the recently ended first quarter, according to new research released yesterday by Turner Networks, as the broadcast networks loaded up on reality shows and repeats.
In fact, several cable networks set records for ad-supported cable. USA Network finished first for the quarter among adults 18-49 and 25-54 in primetime, posting all-time highs of 1.27 million and 1.3 million, respectively.

What I loved is that they were going down the "Lost" path of being very cryptic and mysterious with their story line. They listened to the fans and put together a season that knocked our socks off. Did you find yourself asking, "Could it happen here?"
Single mother with teenage son, emotionally challenged adopted daugther, and the problems they face.
Really just another chick show.
You do realize that this season's Jericho is/was an allegory for what the USA has done to Iraq. From the imposed military government, collusion with the paramilitary substitute for BlackwaterUSA known as Ravenwood, Jennings and Rawl as a stand in for Halliburton/Kellogg Brown and Root (KBR) to the corruption in the leadership of the new civil government, it was all just a warped reflection of America's Iraq policy. The first season was an excellent primer for preparation for extensive terrorist activity, but this season's follow up fell into Hollywood's anti-America mold.
Oh, for those who like American Idol, that is nothing more than an old fashioned variety show dressed up as a game show. Does anyone recall Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour?
I tried to get into that show. I really did, but just couldn’t, and, I’m a fan of the 3 movies. But, Jericho- I LOVE IT!! Even my wife wouldn’t miss an episode.
I loved the Sarah Connor Chronicles! The cyborg girl from Firefly is great.
The one thing that bugs me is, as is typical in shows and commercials on TV, the men are all portrayed as boobs and imbeciles, and the women as heroic super heroes whose job it is to run everything.
It’s absurd that whenever they get in a fix Sarah Connor is able to throw lethal punches hard enough to throw grown men six feet backwards, while easily eluding their counter-punches.
It’s just silly to watch, but the rest of the show is great.
I like Miss Guided, too...it’s funny, and well-written.
I refuse to watch Unhitched, based entirely on its disgusting trailer.
It seems like a juvenile, trashy version of TBS’ excellent My Boys.
