With all the talk about this, and with the obviously disgusting and hate filled comments of Revernd Wright, I thought I would do a little research about Black Liberation Theology. This article is the result.

This doctrine was born out of the radical hate of the 1960s and has been festering ever since.

We had best be very careful when analyzing Obama. He either must, forthwith, completely and wholly disassociate himself from this radical ideology and the Church that teaches it (or any others subscribing to it), or he can in no way be condiered a candidate for Presidency...or any other elected office in these United States IMHO. This is not religion. This is political insurrection in the color of religion. Hiding behind and taking advantage of our religious freedoms...ultimatley to destroy them.

This same type of liberation theology has been used for decades in Latin America to pervert Catholics and goad them into rising into Marxist rebellions in class warfare.

Dismantling Christianity, one church at a time.

Attending this racist church tells me that Obama despises the fact that he's half white. It's too bad his wonderful father didn't have custody of him throughout his childhood. Maybe then he wouldn't have the need to authenticate his blackness by attending a racist church. This is a creep who didn't hesitate to spit in his grandmother's face for his own political gain. What makes his white sycophant followers think he won't do the same thing to them if he is elected?

I sure hope this finishes Obama as a serious candidate. If it doesn’t, then we are in BIG trouble.

Photobucket JAMES H. CONE Charles A. Briggs Distinguished Professor of Systematic Theology

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Professor James H. Cone is the Charles A. Briggs Distinguished Professor of Systematic Theology at Union Theological Seminary. He attended Shorter College (1954-56) and holds a B.A. degree from Philander Smith College (1958). In 1961, he received a Master of Divinity degree from Garrett Theological Seminary and later earned an M.A. (1963) and Ph.D. (1965) from Northwestern University. Dr. Cone has been conferred eight (8) honorary degrees, including a Doctor of Divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary (2000).

In 2006, he was offered an honorary degree from Turner Theological Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center Commencement Exercise, but declined to accept it, because the speaker at the graduation was a “prosperity gospel” preacher. In the same year, he was the recipient of the Paul Robeson Award from the Mother AME Zion Church. Previous awards include the American Black Achievement Award in the category of Religion given by Ebony Magazine of Johnson Publications in Los Angeles, November, 1992; the Theological Scholarship and Research Award from the Association of Theological Schools, 1994; the Fund for Theological Education Award for contributions to theological education and scholarship, given at the American Academy of Religion, Boston, MA, November 1999; induction into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame in 2003, and the recent Julius C. Hope Champion of Social Justice Award from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Orlando, Florida, November, 2006.

Dr. Cone is an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He is listed in the Directory of American Scholars, in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Religion, Who’s Who among African Americans, and Who’s Who in the World. He is the author of eleven (11) books and over 150 articles and has lectured at more than 1,000 universities and community organizations throughout the United States, Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. He is an active member of numerous professional societies, including the Society for the Study of Black Religion, the American Academy of Religion, and the Ecumenical Association of Third World Theologians (EATWOT) in the Philippines.

Dr. Cone is best known for his ground-breaking works, Black Theology & Black Power (1969) and A Black Theology of Liberation (1970); he is also the author of the highly acclaimed God of the Oppressed (1975), and of Martin & Malcolm & America: A Dream or a Nightmare? (1991); all of which works have been translated into nine languages. His most recent publication is Risks of Faith (1999). The 30th Anniversary of the publication of Black Theology & Black Power was celebrated at the University of Chicago Divinity School (April 1998), and a similar event was held for A Black Theology of Liberation at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary (April 2000) and at the Catholic Theological Society of America (June 2001). His research and teaching are in Christian theology, with special attention to black theology and the theologies of Africa, Asia, and Latin America, as well as twentieth century European-American theologies. His current research focuses on “The Cross and the Lynching Tree,” exploring the relationship between the two theologically.

Book:

Systematic Theology
By Charles Hodge, D.D.,
Professor in the Theological Seminary, Princeton, New Jersey
New York: Scribner, Armstrong, and Co.
Successors to
Charles Scribner & Co.
London & Edinbrugh: T. Nelson and Sons.
1873

The entire book is available online here: http://books.google.com/books?hl=en&id=0TEkThdhYcIC&dq=systematic+theology&printsec=frontcover&source=web&ots=lmGRRTwpss&sig=dQpZwuDKq2HbLCzArsZDR7nfxp4

Very dumbed-down definition from Wikipedia:
Systematic theology is the attempt to formulate a coherent philosophy which is applicable to the component parts of a given faith's system of belief. Inherent to a system of theological thought is that a method is developed, one which can be applied both broadly and particularly. While a systematic theology must take into account the sacred texts of its faith, it also looks to history, philosophy, science, and ethics to produce as full a view and as versatile a philosophical approach as possible.

Looks like the "modern" Systematic Theology is a highly corrupted interpretation of a seminal theological work from the late 19th cent.

Thanks for your work on this, Jeff. I didn’t realize the perversion of Christianity went that far, but certainly have no problem believing it.

This is an issue on which we should launch a relentless bombardment of the MSM until they relent and report. Yes, it’s a VERY tall order, but it needs to be done.

An Obama nation would be an abomination.

This dangerous con man must be defeated, even if it means seeing Hillary as the Democrat nominee.

This is not religion. This is political insurrection in the color of religion.

I think that sums it up pretty well. It is purely a political ideology dressed up in theological robes.

We had best be very careful when analyzing Obama. He either must, forthwith, completely and wholly disassociate himself from this radical ideology and the Church that teaches it...

I don't see any way he can do that. Any sort of rejection of it now can't be credible.

I know it isn't politically correct for White America to criticize Black America. The Trinity Church subscribes to Black Liberation Theology which says, “We are owed by the White man.

No, I didn't make a spelling error. I didn't intend to write owned, owed is exactly what I meant to say. These people truly believe that the White man owes them financial reparations for the slavery suffered by their ancestors. If that is what the congregation wishes to believe then I am happy for them and will do nothing to change their beliefs.

America is at risk if there is underreaction to such beliefs. An underreaction would be to deny such beliefs exist. We do not want someone who thinks this way to ever become our Commander-In-Chief. There is a possibility that such a C-I-C believer could straighten out the suicide path we are on and make it too direct where we wouldn't have a chance to veer off at the last moment.

As more and more young people shy away from religious beliefs the shape of the once admired average American family unit dissolves. Without a religious core the family unit seems to be groping for direction these days. Earlier today a friend and I were discussing Obamma, his church and his beliefs. He asked me, "Is having no religious beliefs better than believing in hate?" Boy, that's a difficult question. All I know is that if you aren't a Christian I don't want you as my President.

If my choice for presidential candidate remains Obamma, Clinton or McCain I will send in an absentee vote for Ron Paul.

"Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community ... Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love."

Salafism.

Only the Salafism of cowardice. Because at least Salafist Muslims come out and tell us that they hate everything about us and want to eradicate every trace of us. Cone hides behind the words "Christian" and "church" while having nothing but contempt for their values.

Gutless cowards.

I need some advice. A Washington Post reporter, named Matt Mosk, wants to talk to me about my posts on Free Republic, regarding Obama and his religion? He called my husband at work to contact me.

What did I say? Maybe about Obama sounding like Marjoe.
