I wonder if there’s been any polling released about a potential Gore - McCain matchup. That data would be interesting to look at.
Actually, the "N" word was never buried by the black community. I try not to even "think" that word any more. The problem lies in the trash young black people listen to which they call "music". Blacks call each other n*****s on a regular basis everywhere.
I had one of my black employees call another black employee a (insert profanity / racial slur) some time ago. I called both of them into the office and made them read the department policy letters. They eventually agreed to "bury the hatchet".
To be fair, almost half of those died trying to keep the tragedy going.
uh, they were following orders. They were soldiers. To think that every Civil War Confederate soldier supported slavery is asinine. Most by all records did not support it and did not own slaves. They were fighting for their right for self determination. They were fighting for their right to secede from a Union they perceived as being controlled by rich Northern states at the expense of poor Southern states.
Grow up.
Maryland, home of the apparatchiks
I know it isn’t about race for every voter here in PA, we are a lot like Ohio, at least the western half where we had industry and it decline as well as being a bastion of blue collar jobs. Pennsylvania is often described as “Pittsburgh at one end, Philly on the other and Alabama in the middle.” I can see Obama taking Philly easy. Not so with the rural middle and Pittsburgh, he’d have a rough time here. I say the odds of Hillary winning would be 2 to 1 in her favor.
By the same token, not all Union soldiers who died were intentionally fighting to destroy slavery. A good many, perhaps most, at least in the early days of the war, were strongly against doing any such thing.
The fact remains that if the Confederacy had prevailed slavery would have lasted a good deal longer.
BTW, you’re obviously confused about the relative wealth of states before the War. Average per capita (white) income was a good deal higher in the South than the North.
