Those who use the dark arts in Harry Potter are also the bad guys.

True. That is a very Machiavellian truth, but it has always been so. EXCEPT in Christianity. Another point that people have tried to make is that Potter stories are some sort of Christian allegory.

Im sure people will try to abuse it, but as long as you have a good judge on the bench Think about what you're saying. If there are people willing to abuse it, there are judges willing to abuse it/misapply it.
The reasoning is circular. Why not just get rid of the bad law they had to break?

Please familiarize yourself with the term “Natural rights of man” as it pertained to the founding of this Republic and suddenly it will make perfect sense to you.

BUT THE POINT IS THAT THEY ARE NOT THE SAME AS ISLAMIC FUNDAMENTALISTS. Agreed. Unfortunately, Islamic Fundamendalists have established Theocracies, along with Sharia in a number of places.
Fortunately for us, the separation of government and religion is strongly guarded in the Constitution.

So-called "Christians" who send death threats or try to get the books banned ARE like Islamic Fundamentalists. Duh.

Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, Mother Goose Stories, Grim Brothers--ALL FANTASY, and not one child's pyschological progress ever injured!
I don't know, I found Mother Goose to be pretty scary. And how about Santa Claus? "He knows if you've been bad or good" -- sounds kind of Big Brotherish to me!

Because it may be necessary to break a good law for the good of society.

"The one on the article - telling you what Rowling says - is perfect."So you equate Christians who think Harry Potter is rooted in evil to Islamic Fundamentalists?
We strap bombs on our kids, hijack planes and treat women like $hit. You're absolutely right.

No, and please learn to read what I write.
I say that the headline as written accurately reflects the content of the piece, which is a headline’s job.
Nowhere did I comment on the accuracy of Rowling’s opinion.
Nor would I, since it is her OPINION and therefore not subject to the right-or-wrong test.

On the other side, John Rhys-Davies, the actor who played Gimli, is a conservative. His wife is/was a FReeper, as I remember. He also has great stories to tell about growing up in Africa, witnessing modern-day islamic-permitted slavery.
When I get a chance tomorrow, I should see if I can find that thread....
BTW, greetings from NorCal!
