Evidence for the existence of a particular being eliminates the option of categorizing the being along with mythical phenomena such as leprechauns.
Except for a couple of things. Faith and reason.
Faith is easy, there have been no Leprechauns who have died on the cross to sow a path to the Lord for those of us in need of just that.
Reason is a bit more difficult but not so much for me. The E,M and C were not there and then they were. Supernatural? It would seem so to me.
Science tells me that the laws of physics could not have applied prior to Planck Time. Supernatural? Certainly, since the laws of physics seemingly were broken only once.
So, while Leprechauns may have existed outside of time and whipped up some E, M and C along with the laws of physics and time ex-nihlo, I accept Jesus Christ at His word and believe that God did it.
Perhaps I misunderstood your argument, but if you were calling my arguments atheistic, I wasn’t making much of a leap.
No. Faith is simple.
[[May I suggest we both throw in the towel, rather than just irritating each other to no useful end?]]
Am i irritating you? Hmmm stranfge, I hardly irritate anyone
Translation:
Hmmm stranfge [sic], I'm oblivious to anyone else's irritation.
[[Hmmm stranfge [sic], I’m oblivious to anyone else’s irritation.]]
I was being sarcastic- I realize what I say isn’t ‘popular’ or politcally correct- Laugh a little iwll ya?
Ah. I thought you didn’t know...
;^P
lol- nope- fully aware of my irksomeness :b
and unapologetic for it too :b
Having read my comments, you understand (I presume) the intellectual failings of atheism described therein.
None of this stuff is easy. If atheism or any particular brand of religion were simple and uncontroversial, we wouldn’t have been killing each other over it for the past few thousand years.
It isn’t and we do.
Killing each other is human nature. Take away Christianity from any given society, and the killing increases exponentially.
I’m glad you brought up the notion of “easy” and “uncontroversial.” The ultimate controversy is certainly volatile, and what I really want to point out is that it is not of an intellectual nature. It is a struggle that takes place on a spiritual level. True wisdom is of the spirit and has nothing to do with IQ.
Atheists dont understand this. And although we discuss it here within an intellectual context, it doesn’t require intellectual understanding.
