Yupper! I wasn't thinking of the whole story. I just thought about how the reaction to his *wife* (which she would be) providing for him - even for even a limited time - pricked him so hard.

My hubby is *thrilled* at the young man's reaction and now likes him even more than before. "Good! The guy's got pride and a sense of right and wrong! Now... let's see if he can come up with a good alternative." (Hubby is still "testing" his future son-in-law. No hugs yet.)

There is a lot of truth in this article. I'm so tired of meeting fifty-something-year-old men who want me to support them while they figure out what they're going to do when they grow up. It's disgusting. How can I respect a man who sits on his lazy hindquarters all day and lets a woman work to support him? I'm not rich, but I sympathize with the men who are wary of golddiggers.
