It just seems that some of the nasty posts and name calling originated from the anti-Rudy posters. John McCain’s position on abortion is no different than any of the other liberal candidates. McCain has stated that he will do nothing to over turn Roe vs. Wade, how is that any different than either Rudy or Romney? On top of that McCain voted, oh, what’s the use, you know how liberal McCain is.
I’m just disappointed that you allowed the discourse to descend to that level and then only banned one side. Some of these Freepers give FreeRepublic a bad name. Part of the reason that I avoided the threads was because I knew where you stood on it. I still don’t believe that any of those posters posted Freeper’s personal information on the internet. But it’s your site.
We are conservatives. It is patently unfair to expect conservatives to fall in line with Rudy or McCain.
Surely you can understand that. Look at the homepage. JR has never pretended to be anything other than what his homepage presents.
What is really amazing to me is how people have gotten the conservative message of this site intertwined with a pro GOP-no matter what site.
Rudy was good as NY mayor and did a good job on 9-11, but that does not make him an embodiment of a conservative.
We are talking a POTUS candidate here. It is really somewhat unfair to expect true conservatives to fall in line. The black people in the Democrat Party have been treated that way for years. We are just starting to see them step up.
I'm no McCain fan. In fact I won't vote for him in November. But here is his stance on abortion per his website:
John McCain believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned, and as president he will nominate judges who understand that courts should not be in the business of legislating from the bench. Constitutional balance would be restored by the reversal of Roe v. Wade, returning the abortion question to the individual states. The difficult issue of abortion should not be decided by judicial fiat.
I don’t miss the rino harpie mafia, at all.
Oh, I feel so bad about that. Imagine. Abortionist supporters not received with open arms on a pro-life conservative site. Next thing you know we’ll be kicking out DU trolls.

Oh, please, we all know what John McCain says on his web site, the problem is that he says something different in front of various audiences. For instance, I heard that he pledged to defend traditional marriage in front of one audience, yet he voted against the defense of marriage bill and he has provided cover on the issue for the likes of Lindsey Graham.
I’m wondering who you did support since much of the nastiness started before Thompson ever entered the race.
Fair enough. Since you made the claim, cite an instance where McCain said he wouldn't overturn Roe v Wade. It wouldn't surprise me if you find one, but I haven't seen one to date.
Im wondering who you did support since much of the nastiness started before Thompson ever entered the race.
Fred.
I decided to check out the Gopachy site and what I saw was a post by you. I guess you don’t mind associating with the banned on another site.
What I didn’t understand about that site was that the only posters that I saw there were people that I considered to be almost disruptor on FreeRepublic.
I don’t support abortion, but I don’t think that there is much a president can do to change it, except to appoint conservative judges, and I don’t trust McCain in that area, either. It doesn’t really matter whether I support McCain or not, though because this state is so far in the Obama camp that no Republican has a chance. What I am really angry about is the fact that the nasty divisions in the Republican party allowed McCain to disenfranchise me.
Huh? Who do you think restored those banned accounts? He's here...

Nevermind, I found it myself. In 1999 McCain stated he would not overturn Roe v Wade. Not shocking, since he’s a liberal just like Rudy and Mitt.
It was posted here on FreeRepublic, it was a long thread, but it was about two weeks ago, maybe longer. I don’t know, but it was there.
As long as JR is here, promoting the same conservative views we are, I think we can rest assured we’ll be welcome here. Read his post, and see if it brings you the same comfort and reassurance it brought me.
I was never on the receiving end of one of their attacks, because I avoided posting. A lot of FReepers were afraid to post back then.
I’ve never posted on their site.
And what part of I don’t give a damn about what liberals, moderates, abortionists, gay activists, gun control idiots, et al have to say do you not understand? FR is a conservative site. We fight for conservatism and against liberalism. I’m not interested in building a big tent. I’m not interested in debating liberals or compromising away our rights. And I do not feel compelled to provide a soapbox to those who are.
It was more recent than that, he was speaking to some campaign audience, but he’s been flipping around on other issues too. I think it was last week, that he was in Texas, saying that a physical border fence was necessary everywhere, that a virtual fence would suffice in some areas or states, and that he would ask the governors to vet the security of the virtual fences. Then a day or two later McCain was back in Arizona, declaring the virtual fences a virtual failure.
My main concern with McCain though is the global warming issue. The left can use global warming as an excuse for any type of action that they want, and we are in a nasty battle with the enviro nazis in Washington State. If support McCain I will lose all credibility in my local battle. I happen to feel that Giuliani and not so much Romney, had a better chance than Huckabee or Hunter in the national election. Thompson just didn’t start early enough to gain support outside of the political junkie groups.
I think that the nastiness that occurred on FreeRepublic was very divisive and allowed the opening for McCain. It should not have been allowed to happen. I guess that maybe FreeRepublic is not influential enough to be blamed for the debacle, though. Posters on both sides of the issue should have been warned and suspended.
Looks like one of the anti-FReepers registered your name this time. Don’t you hate when they do that?
Mitt didn’t catch on until it was too late, but that is not entirely his fault. I blame the ‘rats crossing over for McCain.
What? JR didn’t post it on that site, someone from here did.
Weird
Someone is posting on GoPachy in your name, or maybe just copying posts that you make here, and transferring them to their site. The post that I saw was about demands that you were making of John McCain.
I guess you don’t care how the single issue voters address anyone who disagrees with them on anything, though. I never disagreed with them on abortion, but I get called stupid. Is that appropriate on this site?
