Florida is not a crossover state. Any Republicans who wanted to vote in a RAT “do-over” primary would have to register as RATs 30 days before the election. The RATs would probably want a rule change that would prohibit any re-registration and Governor I Want Everybody To Like Me Crist would dutifully comply.

You guys don’t get it.

You have to read between the headlines, but Florida is a state where hillary regularly leads obama by 20 or 30 points because of retired new yorkers, and older folks/ hispanics that don’t like blacks. So in essence, the Republican Governor is offering a re-vote to the DNC so that Hillary gets more delegates and helps ensure that hillary / barak go into the convention nearly tied and all hell breaking loose at the Democratic convention! This is pure political genius by Crist, a real way to stick it to the DNC. The Dems can’t refuse it or it looks like they are disenfranchising the very voters that they vociferously demanded every vote be counted in 2000! And FL is such a cruicial swing state for the general election that they can’t piss off florida voters! LOL! Pure genius by Crist, pure genius. It just ensures a deadlocked Democratic convention. FL has been a real pain in the arse for Dems. Let’s hope hillary wins TX and OH to keep her even with obama. Oh it’s gonna be great to see their party split in 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is less and less a habit of folks on FR to think before they post. It is very sad.

I doubt they would reopen registration to allow Republicans to change their affiliation and crossover, since that would potentially allow Florida Republicans to vote twice.

I'd say they have to. The Dimwits are going to vote twice so why not? And FL has no problem with people changing their party affiliation before the primary and back after it.

Lucky us. He’s one of those reachers across the aisle. He’s got a long reach...but it’s our money in his pocket.

Maybe Crist will be Juan’s VP but for the purpose of losing so that the dems will love him in 2012. VP ain’t good enough for the empty suit. He wants to be POTUS, He’s a facade with socialist leanings. Where’s my tax reform and insurance reform? CC has no clue.

Isn't this exactly what AlGore said in 2000? It was the dem mantra until a freeper invented SORELOSERMAN stickers.

Crist is stealing AlGore's material.

“Every vote must count,” Crist said during the interview.

I agree, which is why I think Crist’s idea isn’t going anywhere.

The effect would be that Florida voters get a chance to vote twice while voters in other states can only vote once. Imagine the lawsuits under the Equal Protection Clause. This could open quite a can of worms, which I’m sure our governor never considered, not exactly being the brain surgeon type.

I don’t want to pay for this do-over, Charlie. UNLESS you throw it open and let Republicans have a do-over also. You are a large part of why we have the detestable McCain as our nominee in the first place.

How about a recall of The Three Stooges- Crist, Martinez, McCain.

(some people's governor, maybe by red china standards)

He's had everything handed to him his entire life. His perspective is that money grows on trees. Even children learn that it doesn't.

“It’s my TAX DOLLARS. Unless money grows on trees at your house, you should be outraged.”

I think spending tax dollars to allow the Dems to spend more of their time and money fighting each other is a good investment.

“This could open quite a can of worms,...”

EXACTLY ! Let the Dems in the other states decide to sue THEIR State government and THEIR State Democratic officials claiming they want a do-over also.

I’ve got no problem letting the Dems beat each other up as long as they want.
