But yeah, it is a bit of a jolt to see ANYONE this openly stupid, but especially pretty women to be so...vacuous.
She's a stupid actress who happens to be French. We have plenty of stupid American actors and actresses.
I'm not ashamed to be an American because of them.

This may be a good thing, 'cause I am probably not alone when I say I won't support her...
I think these comments are how indicative of how far we have to go in order to get a fair shake with the people of most European nations, especially France.
She’s French and she works in the entertainment industry. In theory, you only have to be a member of the latter to hold such odd views. The fact that she is the former and the latter leads her to making these comments public, because who knows, most of the people she knows back home hold these views. The difference between her and most people in the entertainment industry is that they keep these thoughts to themselves, because they know people like you and me are ultimately where the money comes from. But they still think these things. At least she is honest enough to say what she thinks.
However, it is pretty obvious that being where she is from, and working with the people she does, she thinks these things. But I mostly fault the culture. Which shows how much work needs to be done to change the culture.
I had heard of Marion before Oscar night because I am of French-Canadian descent, so I have an interest in the French language and French movies. So I have another one she is in, “Jeux d’enfants,” and she is also in another favorite of mine, Tim Burton’s “Big Fish.” But I am mostly into her because she is French, has a nice smile, and very emotive eyes. But I wasn’t fooling myself into thinking she’d be a happy flag waving American.
I think the French culture is changing (re: Sarkozy), but I think we’d all agree that it has a long way to go. But it is the land where my family comes from, so even with goofy stuff like this, I still say vive la france.
A pronouncement of this magnitude sent me scurrying for my French/English dictionary to look up the term “moron”. Not surprisingly it said “Cotillard”.

I spend time with friend in Europe every year . The VAST majority of people I’ve met are %100 convinced that 9/11 was a plot by Bush to start a war for oil or some such nonsense. Very few people I meet there have a clue to the reality of anything related to 9/11..It ‘s scary .
I would love to see her naked. Other than that, she has been added to the list of “I will never watch a movie if “x” is in it”
