I am so sick of this crap, if ANY apologizes are warranted, it should come from Africa, it was THERE that slavery was allowed by their own leaders, it was there that Africans men were sold for booze and trinkets. I didn’t realize that this congress had actually held slaves. If they did then they should apologize, otherwise it is just a BS feel good exercise that means nothing. slavery has been abolished in this country for over 150 years now, what is the sense of apologizing now? No sense except for some kiss ass maneuver trying to keep blacks on the dem plantation by giving away yet more money.

Ridiculous. The US inherited the institution of slavery from the British and finally abolished that institution — it just took longer than it should have.
