Subject: IVAW/Eagles Muster, March 14/15, Washington, DC UPDATE
Friends,
A large number of Eagles are spreading wings, stirring the air in anticipation of swooping into Washington, DC next month (just 17 days) in support of our nation, our troops, and honoring our fallen and all families. We are pleased by encouragement from Rolling Thunder.
As you know we have two goals:
1. To counter and challenge IVAW Winter Soldier II (WSII) Testimony on March 14 by demanding "truth". The theory of WSII is that our warriors and government policy is involved with or encouraging atrocities and other criminal activity...to prove such allegation, WSII must identify, time, date, place, witnesses, leadership, associated with any criminal activity and do so "under oath" to be considered worthy of investigation.
2. Our second goal is to participate in a peaceful march in Washington that reflects a view of appreciation, uplifting, pride in America, our troops and families... not degrade, demean or denigrate our beloved nation, warriors and families. This will be a positive event with flags, banners, patriotic music, fellowship, and oriented for the entire family of patriots.
We have our official permits, have made arrangements for toilet facilities, working on medical support, security will be well in hand by National Park Service, march location is easy to find (see attached map)........all details are at www.eaglesup.us under Eagles Muster on the left of the home page.....please visit.
Many of you have asked how you can help financially.......well now is the time. Some of the Eagles Up staff are currently carrying most of the financial load in order to meet the needs of our fellow participants safety and comfort as well as requirements of the District of Columbia regulations that must be satisfied.
There are two options to donate. Go to www.eaglesup.us and look on the right side of the home page if you prefer to use a credit card. If you prefer to send a check or money order make payable to Eagles Up Inc. and mail to
Eagles Up Inc.
PO Box 202
Mequon, WI 53092.
If you need more information, click "contact" at the top right of www.eaglesup.us home page.
It should be noted that all funds are used strictly for event needs, none for personal use of Eagles Up staff. All funds are carefully recorded and available for public review as required. We are not able to offer tax deductible status at this time, so your donation will simply be a gift of thanksgiving in support of our mission.
We are beginning to turn the negative atmosphere of the "hate America" crowd toward a positive and well intentioned display of support for "America, our troops, families and fallen" ....it's the right thing to do.
Our efforts depend on a team approach...a winning reflection of "boots on the ground" at the backs of our warriors and families as they sacrifice so much for us.
God bless you............

You have to go to the link above to see the route map.DC - March 2008
It won't embed here at FR. (At least I can't make it do that...) It moves around to show the whole route.
Thanks Synchro. I passed it on to my Air Force site. Eagles Up had 2 versions of the map listed ... one in pdf format and one in png format. I was able to save the png map, downsize it and post it at Air Force - Together We Served.
I think the problem is that FR does not allow embedded thingies
I tried posting the source code for it and it just didn't show up.
It can be seen easily at the link though.
HEY, you got the jump on me! I have 5 different updates to post, now I will have to see which ones you covered for me! I couldn't get to it til now.
Albi, thanks! That was the first update I had coming in.
Now I don’t have to post it. Thank you much!
Friends,
If you live along the "Resolve to Win" march route, please come out and walk some distance with the three patriots.......you can read about the purpose and view the march route below.

Show Your Resolve: March to Washington

by BlogMasters
Three retired Army officers, recently returned from Iraq and others will be marching from the SC/NC Stateline and ending at the U.S. Capitol (1 Mar to 16 Mar 2008). Dennis McCool, Carl Heerup and Marc Breslow will be walking 400 miles in an event called "Resolve To Win" . The reason is to show support for the Troops and the Mission of the Troops. The purpose is to demonstrate resolve to do a difficult task and to create a dialogue about our National Will to win.
We are looking for participation and support from everyone in getting the word out to the active duty, military civilians, local community and veteran organizations to support this effort. This event will be supported by many American Legion and VFW Posts along the route of the march. We expect this event will be getting National coverage by Fox News and other local and national media.
It is the desire of the men organizing and performing this March to get as many people along the route as possible to show we as Americans support our troops, the military leadership in Iraq and want to win this conflict. Everyone is encouraged to join in this Resolve to Win March. If anyone desires to join the march for a mile, an hour, a day or just standing along the side of the road, you can join in anywhere along the route and march as long as you like. Motorcycle participation is encouraged to assist the marchers through busy intersections and to travel up and down each days march route to draw attention to the event. Many American Legion Post & VFWs will be participating and supporting this effort. For example, Spotsylvania, VA Post 320 will have their Honor Guard participate in the march and other members plan to join the march as well.
This march is strictly to show support for our troops in Iraq.. It's not political, nor is it to support any particular party. This is an endorsement of General Petraeus's leadership and the skill, talent and sacrifice of our Troops to win in Iraq. Our troops need to know we remember them, by showing our Patriotism, that we care and support them and that they are and will not be forgotten now or later.
This march will start at RT 301 SC/NC Stateline and eventually pickup RT 1 North all the way to the U.S. Capitol. See March Route and Schedule for details. A summary of the 16 day March, route and schedule is at http://www.resolvetowin.us/marchrouteandschedule.html and detailed route of march is available in a Google Pedometer Map

President George W. Bush
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, D.C. 20500
SUBJECT: An Invitation for the Commander in Chief
Dear President Bush,
As you know there are elements in America that are tearing down our troops and our nation using propaganda, vile accusations, and even physical vandalism. This behavior has generally been going on for several decades without challenge.
For the last year, beginning March 2007, American patriots, Viet Nam and Iraq/Afghanistan veterans, and others who call ourselves Eagles, have been peacefully challenging anti-war/anti-America elements. Our efforts are proving successful in the streets, at recruiting stations, in the town square, wherever those that demean, denigrate, distort, deceive, and malign our nation and warriors, gather.
We will again challenge the anti-America crowd on March 14 and 15 in Washington, D.C. An event called Iraq Veterans Against War (IVAW) Winter Soldier II(WSII) Testimony will be held in the D.C. Area. The theory of WSII is that our warriors and government policy is involved with or encouraging atrocities and other criminal activity. This testimony is modeled after Senator John Kerry's 1971 Winter Soldiers Testimony which has been discredited as false. However, to preclude a repeat of the 1971 impact today, to prove such allegation WSII must identify, time, date, place, witnesses, and leadership associated with any criminal activity and do so "under oath" to be considered worthy of investigation.
Eagles Up www.eaglesup.us and others will put boots on the ground to challenge and demand truth from the Winter Soldiers II Testimony.
Further, on March 15, 2008, Eagles will conduct a peaceful, permitted march in Washington, DC that reflects a view appreciating, uplifting, with pride in America, for our troops and families... not degrade, demean or denigrate our beloved nation, warriors and families. This will be a grass roots positive event with flags, banners, patriotic music, fellowship, and oriented for the entire family of patriots.
This brings me to the primary reason for my letter to you Mr. President. We would like to invite you, as Commander in Chief, to visit with us on March 15, some time during the morning at our march assembly location just off Constitution Avenue in the shadow of the Washington Monument. Since our efforts are largely focused on supporting our troops, your presence would send a strong message of encouragement to our warriors and families.
Your presence would be greatly appreciated.
Very Respectfully,
Harry G. Riley, COL, USA, Ret

A quick note to advise of a few needs in support of EAGLES MUSTER in Washington, DC March 14/15.
1. Marshals..........These individuals will represent a unique partnership between Eagles Up and police forces present at the events. Your involvement with this team will be to actively deter any risk behaviors capable of influencing crime and violence, assist attendees as needed, and help build a positive relationship between our organization, law enforcement, and attendees.
Please send a note to Jim Jamison if you're interested in helping out with the "marshal" need.
2. Medical.........If you have medical background.....limited, certification, Doctor credentials please contact Tom Helsel
3. If you are muscular, over six feet tall and will volunteer for some heavy lifting contact Jim Jamison
Our mission success is based on our theory of "teamwork" and support..........we can't accomplish our mission without many of us stepping forth and giving of our time, talent, and resources.
We also have committed ourselves to financial obligations....many have been encouraging the actions we are taking. Lift up America, support our troops, and protect and honor our fallen and our families....that's what we'll be doing March 14 and 15 in Washington, DC.
Several have sent contributions and we ask others to consider helping meet our commitments. Mail a check payable to Eagles Up, Inc. PO Box 202, Mequon, WI 53092 or go to www.eaglesup.us and make a contribution via credit card.
Thanks........looking forward to sending a strong message to America March 14/15 as thousands of "boots on the ground" make their mark.
Harry Riley, COL, USA, Ret
