Now that’s a reason to vote for Huckabee if ever there was one. Perry’s against him? I need to take a better look at him.

Governor Goodhair, why don’t you shut up? I voted here in TX and I voted for Huckabee. I don’t really like either of the Republican Candidates, however.

Am I the only one who thinks our choices on both sides of tha aisle are really lousy?

In the same sense as Huckabee— different sins, but on par.

Yes? Such as?

Oh, please. Huckabee is just a man. Don’t pretend to be able to judge what kind of Christian he is in comparison to McCain. You’re not equipped to handle the job.

We know that Huckabee has a somewhat foul mouth— and he wasn’t even angry. We know that he’s not forthcoming about his record, that he plays with words. We know that he, looking wide-eyed and innocent, started a good bit of nastiness back while there were more candidates in the race. We know that he’s a kowtowing socialist.

Huckabee’s a blighted politician, just like most of them are, including McCain. Don’t pretend he’s any better than McCain. This is how it is this election cycle: Choose your poison.

Gov. Perry must be worried about his job in the McCain Administration.

I am willing to make a money-bet [I just don’t do that very often] that Gov. Goodhair is gearing up to run in 2012. He’s “written” a book about Boy Scouts and is donating the proceeds (which should amount to very little) to them. He’s building a resume as we speak. His idiot error in supporting Rudy won’t hold him back any.

He’ll never get my vote. [My guess is that his good-looks will get him no further than Romney’s got him. Gov. Goodhair is a mile wide and an inch deep.]

Mr. Perry told a Washington, D.C., TV station last week,

This Texas Governor's love affair with Washington insiders has evidently put him in touch their marketing department.

Clara...Clara....Clara, I was asking another poster (not you) about using McCain's "Christian" status to qualify their vote for him.......when you jumped in and decided to rake me over the coals. lol

But I would like to know... what makes you feel more "equipped" or superior to "handle the job" in the judgment department?

All the things you said about Huckabee could be applied to McCain from what I've read over the years.....and then some. I don't know enough about Huckabee to make a decision yet... and I'm learning..... which is why I'm on FR. Ok?

Sorry if I misunderstood your original post.

You'll have to point out to me where I said I was "equipped" or "superior." I pretty much consider God only to be capable of judging.

All the things you said about Huckabee could be applied to McCain from what I've read over the years
That was my whole point. Hence, my tagline.

Sorry if I misunderstood your original post.

You did misunderstand and apology accepted. :)

When someone tells me "I'm not equipped"....generally infers they assume they ARE. The other clue was when I was told I couldn't judge McCain.... when you were judging Huckabee in the same sentence....which denotes an air of superiority. lol

My understanding of the Word is that we ARE to use our judgment in knowing other Christians by their fruits. (fruits of the spirit, that is) McCain fails this test in every sense of the word.......IMHO

Huckabee....like I said, is still being researched.....but I haven't been happy with most of our choices from the beginning.

The guy I want isn’t running. Now I have to wait and see what the offering is to make up my mind.

Your opinion of Perry is almost as high as mine. Can’t stand the man! He is still a Democrat at heart. What anybody else does in none of his business! And I didn’t vote for Huck!

Gov. Perry is a RINO who first endorsed THE most liberal candidate, Giuliani, and is NOW endorsing the 2nd most liberal candidate, McCain.

So why should I listen to what Gov. Perry has to say?

Kurt,
1. Huckabee has 0% chance at the nominee.
2. Gov Rick Perry should shut his pie-hole and let Mike Huckabee make his own decision. Huckabee’s continued presense might be considered annoying to some, but it at least is giving Texas a bit more to vote on than a McCain coronation. conservatives will be voting to send a message.

IMHO, if Mike Huckabee wants a future, he should contemplate making the tough decision after the OH and TX primary ... AND JUMPING IN TO THE ARKANSAS SENATE RACE AGAINST PRYOR.

Huckabee could win that race. He’s young enough that he could come back in 4,8 or so years and be a viable VP or P candidate.

OTOH, if he doesnt, he’s basically out of politics.

“It would be best for Conservatives if none of them get the 1191 delegates needed to secure the nomination. That would force a brokered convention so a Conservative candidate can then be nominated.”

That scenario will not and cannot happen. McCain will easily pass the magic majority mark well before the last primaries are done. He may even get there on March 4th.

If he doesn't have them yet, then it is still theoretically possible, regardless of whether it's at all likely. And of possible scenarios, that's the best one. If my state's primary were still ahead of me, I would surely be voting for someone other than McCain.

You can make up whatever scenario you want in an alternate universe. Here on planet earth, McCain is a lock for the nomination and has been for the past few primaries.

I will not vote mcCain in Texas, but most people will; he is now 20 points ahead of Huckabee in national polls and about 10+ points in TX and OH.

It is mathematically impossible to have anything other than a Mccain win if he wins the next 5 primaries, which is what he will do.
