It is possible, but highly unlikely.
Why this particular former Representative out of the hundreds of elected and former GOP House members with identical records and views?

Moreover, the running mate ought to have a résumé that doesn't say he's a full-time conventional politician.

Well, that would rule out Charlie Crist. One can only hope....

I want Bobby Jindal to be president someday, so I don’t want him anywhere near the McCain campaign. McCain actually has a shot at winning this election, not because people want him to win, but because both Hillary & Obama are so horrible. McCain could win by default because the public can’t stomach the other two.

McCain would then have a failed presidency because he would spend his time pushing amnesty and compromising with the Democrats. Anyone associated with it would be tainted for all time.

Also, Jindal just took office as governor, and he can’t just walk off to start campaigning for VP after so short a time.

I love Haley but he is into his 60s. I think someone younger would help energize the ticket more. Sanford makes more sense perhaps. Hard to believe he and Gov Pawlenty are a year younger than I am. Makes me feel old. ;) Former Rep Rob Portman also has been mentioned. Maybe he would help hold crucial Ohio.

The local Fox affiliate last night was making it sound like Gov Jodi Rell here in CT is on the list. I doubt she would be seriously considered because she is seen as a moderate. Her predecessor John Rowland probably would have been a contender had he not ended up in prison. What a maroon.

A good rule of thumb in a year when Move On poured money into Ohio is to change the attitude on FR from one of hunkering down nancy boys to playing aggressive offense.

And that means finding a Republican with the ability to take Electoral Votes away from the Democrats. Sitting around and waving fists in the air with a VP candidate from a red state is just flat out cowardice. If you want courage, grab for blue EVs.

Pawlenty . . . maybe can bring Minnesota. Romney maybe can bring Michigan. If Hillary is VP on the Dem side, I don’t see how Guilliani or Pataki could bring NY, so ignore them. Perhaps a Republican from Washington state or Oregon might give McCain a shot at those EVs.

Regardless, this constant playing of cowardly defense with red state VP suggestions is not the path to victory when Move On may steal Ohio.

Carly Fiorina has been chosen to campaign and fund raise by the RNC. “Rumors” are she will advise McCain on economics. Also rumors that VP offer could be possible. A friend of mine from the west coast assures me that this would be a kiss of death for too many people out there who remember her management style...

I have determined that Florida Gov. Charlie Crist will be McCain’s VP. He didn’t get married for nothing.
