“Sen. McCain should earn the respect of the Republican base by debating Mike Huckabee”
How will this help? Not much of the base cares for Huckabee either.

This part of the base could care less who McCain debates or doesn’t debate.

Hate to say it. I have never been a Huckabee fan...But Huck could make McCain look like the biggest fool on earth.
McCain should never try to out debate a professional gifted speaker like Huck.
McCain is one of the worst speakers ever, he has that whiney voice, nasty attitude etc...
McCain, creep that he is, should decline this.

I wish I had an interest in hearing what either one of them have to say. They are tied for last on the bottom of my list.

I’d lose respect for McCain if he agreed to debate Mr. Huckleberry at this point. Let Huck find some other venue to market himself for future speaking engagements.

I'm also not a Huckster fan but it's another indication the GOP is trying to silence any dissenting viewpoint to distort the results. I figured people should at least be aware of this scam and those who are so inclined can sign the petition.

I'll watch, just on the off chance, Huck pushes hard enough for McCains head to explode.
Better now than later.

The title is misleading. Besides, who cares what either one of them has to say. This would be a huge waste of time.

You're right. I didn't properly copy and paste the words "A petition to". Admin Moderator please edit the title of thread to read "A Petition to Sen. McCain to accept an invitation to debate Mike Huckabee". Sorry folks and thanks Thanks Mr. B.

"But Huck could make McCain look like the biggest fool on earth."Very true. Huck would destroy McCain in a one on one debate. McCain has no sane reason to walk into such a thing with the delegate count being the way it is right now.

I get your joke. Delegate count aside, it sure would not help McCain any, it would just point out how unacceptable he really is.
When it comes to speech, Huck can outdo McLame anytime, and I don’t even have a liking for Huck.
You know, Senators have never been good Presidents or candidates. I reckon that is because more people have been screwed over, in general, with senators, than with governors. This time we have 3 jerks running. No matter what, we end up with a jerk.

I find it simply stunning that this guy won the nomination against a field of candidates, ALL of whom are more personable/presentable than him.

Why doesn’t Huckabee just debate Ron Paul with an empty chair for McCain?
Or was this debate supposed to be just for Huckabee and McCain?

Talk about a sznooze.
