Heart of hearts, supreme court appointments, I think I’m going to be sick. Is this what we have to look forward to in the months ahead?

Steven and Ginsberg may retire this term.
I am not expecting a Clarence Thomas appointmet from McCain.
If the best we get are a couple of young Sandra Day O’Connors, that is a LOT better than getting two young liberals.

BTW - If he's so pro life, why did he PERSONALLY file a brief to keep a right to life group from showing the anti abortion stuff before an election?
I don't remember the exact particulars, but your Mr. Wonderful was kissing Ted Kennedy's or some other deocRAT's ass and did that.

Doesn’t matter. McQueeg can’t win and can switch parties after the election.

I do not agree with McCain on that, but for your information the original CFR law was to keep ALL “special interest groups” from doing that before an election.
It did not single out Right to Lifers.

Is this what we have to look forward to in the months ahead?Yes, people sacrificing their principles to try to prop up a candidate not worthy of the sacrifice.

"He is pro-life in his heart of hearts, in my opinion," said Rep. Christopher H. Smith, New Jersey Republican and a pro-life movement leader,
McCain quoted during an interview with The San Francisco Chronicle in 1999.
" Id love to see a point where it is irrelevant, and could be repealed because abortion is no longer necessary. But certainly in the short term, or even the long term, I would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade, which would then force X number of women in America to [undergo] illegal and dangerous operations."

“Senator McCain was not a party to the dispute between Wisconsin Right to Life and the Federal Election Commission. .... Kathryn’s law professor correspondent very helpfully pronounces that “Whether one approves of the campaign finance law or not, it affects pro-life and pro-choice groups in precisely the same way.”

NARAL gives McCain a voting record of ZERO to FOUR percent.
Right to Life gives him over 70 percent.
Where would we be if ALL of Congress voted as pro-life as John McCain?

Having to choose between what McCain has actually said and done and some groups who makes up some arbitrary subjective rating, I'll take the later every time.

Having to choose between what McCain has actually said and done What McCain HAS DONE for the pro-life movement has been to be a strong and solid pro-life vote for 30 years. (embryonic stem cell and CFR exceptions noted).
I wish all in Congress had a pro-life voting record as strong as McCain, don't you?
