I agree it has the same undertones, but aren't Iran and Syria supposed to be in cahoots anyway? Why would the Iranis react to this in any way other than to stay the course? It is an intriguing thought

I just can't help but think smart guys (cough Israelis) made this thing look like a Palestinian bomb to mess with the minds of all kinds of folks. Clearly Hezballah, Hamas, Syria, Iran and AQ all have to sit up and take notice as to what has been happening lately. As dog said, we hit some tasty targets right next to a Pakistani base, the Israelis blew up a baby nuke plant in Syria, we've seen all kinds of purges of AQ in Iraq and grabbed great intel and now Big Chief uga Mug gets blown to bits. Seems like the good guys are sending powerful messages, with regularity and clarity.
