The point is that it's difficult for so many reasons to imagine a 9 month pregnant woman at Auschwitz but it's easy to imagine people fudging their autobiographies.
Not much difference between a Belgian and a German, is there? Food wise, language wise, Nazi wise.
Wouldn’t even be surprised if his Dad was a nazi myself. Particularly if she’d been there for 9 months.
Who knows...but it’s not something we’ll ever know.
I’ve got a 101 year old woman who lost both parents and 8 of her 9 brothers and sisters in several camps.
Relatives tell of all kinds of undbeleiveable stuff, and I can certainly picture a malnourished woman not showing, let alone NOT exactly blabbering about it!
Exactly, I think it’s a law here, I know we have to have language interpreters in our company for signing them onto hopsice care, an idea we most likely GOT from Europe!
Most Belgians speak English.
Even if that’s true, so what?
But Europeans are racists beyond anything you've seen in the US. When I was in the Army in Germany (70's) civilians there would ask me if black people had tails that they tucked in, or whether they had 6 toes. Totally wierd and ignorant.
I've never put the two together like that, but yes it does. It takes a lot to make me laugh out loud, but you did it. Thanks.
Not only do many Belgians speak English, but the Flemish are more likely to speak English than French, while the Walloons are more likely to speak English than Flemish.
“That’s okay. We weren’t planning to order Jews. They give us heartburn. Now could you bring us some menus, please?”
