I still do a lot of work on the top of steel buildings. Dust is just about as slippery as snow. About ten years ago I bought a pair of slip on rubber overshoes and they stick like...well rubber.
I still don’t push it, like working on top in the snow, but they really help even when the roof is wet. Might work so you don’t have to leave a top coat which is probably a lot harder than just shoving the load over the side.

My trophy bride and I just got back from a cruise to the Mexican Riveria (Puerto Valerta, Mazatlan, and Cabo).
It was cool down there. Mazatlan has had the coldest winter since the 1950’s. We will not be hearing about that from CNN or the Weather Channel.

You're right...you'll never hear of it. Hope you guys had a wonderful trip!
My wife actually picked this one out. It was the one I wanted on the lot...but I was about, due to cost considerations, to go with a 2006 Dodge RAM Big Horn Edition 4X4 crew cab. The wife intervened and said to go with the one I really wanted because she thought it would hold its value better and that I would like it better in any case...and who was I to question her clear and obvious good judgement?

Point noted and complement stands. PS, I hate short box pickups, but, since you do have crew cab, if you added a full box, your turning radius would be like an SR-71 at Mach three. Not too good for those forest service roads, trails and switchbacks.

We took sabbaticals. My wife from work, and me from the internet and fishing.

Got it.
In my business I have a Heavy Duty, employer supplied, 4X4 Suburban that is set up for my electronic tooling...everything behind the front seat is on a large, pull-out tool and equipment slider that pulls out 110% out the tail end.
But I know that van will hold 2x, maybe 3x what I hold.

"What all does it have under that hood? "mechanically stock 5.3 Vortec at the moment. All we've messed with at this point is the programming in the ECU which we modified with a Predator tune.
Got some plans, but also have 4 sons driving, each of which think their own personal car is sponsored by the business :-)

I can’t tell you how many times I have had any of my vans maxed out in weight. When I used to do roofing and siding all the time I had ladders, picks, pump jacks, compressors etc loaded and off to the job.
They are work vehicles, they had better hold their weight and perform. There is no way in this business a small, 4 cyl truck could handle a real contractors equipment.
