I am about to buy a new PC, it will have XP, it will go into storage with a few essential items like extra memory and extra software, nothing fancy or expensive, its going to be wrapped with materials to hopefully protect it from any EMP emissions and going belowground for any emergency and for a backup, plus several other electronic sensitive devices like a cellphone plus various type of radios, camcorder etc.

While these issues and the hiccups of a brand new approach still need to be ironed out, IBM stands to gain some significant customers in the web hosting world with its attractive setup, even if it can't accomplish its Herculean goal of the Kittyhawk.
A long time ago my wife was in systems operations for the largest utility on the West Coast here. She and her supervisor were running new cables under the computer room floor tiles, some of them were 100 foot runs. A bundle of cables snagged on something. Her supervisor said just yank on it, it'll free up. She said I don't think so. He comes over and tugs on it.
All of a sudden an alarm starts sounding, he says crap and starts running to a control panel. Didn't make it in time, and all the network devices and mainframes start shutting down. Ended up taking down networks for the utility in several cities. Despite the many planned backup systems and failsafes he managed to defeat them. He never got over the humiliation of it all. I've seen numerous similar situations in my long experience as a network manager.
All it takes is one idiot!
