My sister in law was teasing about the incest. I started with a list of married couples written by hand by my great grandmother that went back about six generations. I also had a family bible and a bunch of old photos. I was very blessed with my mother’s side of the family. One of my mother’s mother’s first cousins actually wrote a book about one branch of the family and is mildly famous for it although she was totally nuts. So now I’m the crazy Auntie who is more kindly referred to as the family historian. Fun.
likelihood of distant cousin marriage is wherever folks stay put more:
South, Appalachia, Texas....New England, UP..Dakotas

I never married any of mine but woulda bedded a few given the window
And I think I got the cousins wrong, how they're determined, but not going there today and used to be able to get close the hard way with the more complicated ones.
I may take a look at the link later, thanks. Tried to figure out the DNA molecule and what it meant, too long since I remember anything about that.
