Obama, Clinton, McCain and Huck have to be four of the absolute worst candidates I have ever seen. McCain or McCain/huck will be crushed by one of the two clueless dems.

With any luck, they’re experienced at running losing campaigns.

Pardon me for being blunt. Experience being a prisoner of war is meaningless as a qualification for the office of President. I wish we had a candidate who had spent more than 20 hours in air combat and killed lots of our foes. Instead we got the rich kid who got shot down early. Yeah he toughed it out. So what? He bends over every time Teddy Kennedy walks by. That ain’t what we’re paying him to do. I sound cold and I am. I want the guy who flew 200 hours and downed 10 Migs. That’s what we need. Not McClinton.

Thomas Sowell is a bit ignorant at this point.

Sen McCain rose to the rank of Naval Captain.

Is Sowell suggesting that the military is a dishonorable profession?

It is the military that makes business possible. Defense is the primary reason to have governments in the first place.

Sowell is simply allowing his political prejudice to show through.

Read the article:

“McCain’s military service was both honorable and heroic. But let’s not confuse that with experience relevant to being president of the U.S.”

not confuse that with experience relevant to being president....

I might suggest the name of George Washington.

Sowell is a nut on this one.

The President is the COMMANDER In Chief.

Sheesh....it's like their brains have fried, Lord.

2006 was bad. 2008 is going to be worse, starting with a Three TRILLION+ dollar budget and ending with the extreme left-wing winning big in November. But it’s not like we haven’t seen this coming for the last 8-12 YEARS. Quit whining. We should be used to it by now.

"Sen McCain rose to the rank of Naval Captain."

After destroying 5 high performance aircraft. Just because his father was an Admiral. Things have changed a lot in the last 40 years since then, with consequences to prevent that. In all services.

Yeah, yeah, I get it, the POTUS is also the CIC.

So what? So McPain had a military career. So *&@#&ing what?! Does everyone who had a military career qualify to be POTUS? What KIND of OTHER experience does McPain have that qualifies him to be POTUS?

We know his military record. Hell, he’s tried to drum that into our heads over and over and over. “I’m a war hero so vote for me.” OK, got it, Beady Eyes. Now let’s take a look at your POLITICAL record and your POLITICAL experience. Doesn’t look quite as impressive and honorable, now, does it? Damn liberal RINO.

That’s the point here.

Wartime....

His father was an admiral. His grandfather was an admiral. He rose to Naval Captain. A POW whose fellow prisoners remember him as a courageous leader.

And Sowell thinks General George Washington wasn’t qualified to be a president. (or Harrison, Grant, Eisenhower, etc.)

I might suggest John Kerry. Did you know he was in Vietnam?

What an insightful comment.....NOT.

It is NOW Wartime, and the nation gets to choose between candidates with our without military experience among other things.

Let’s see: Romney traded stock and was a governor. Wooo “flipfloppin” Hooo!

McCain was: an aviator and military officer and a Senator.

I suppose you can tell me why trading stock is MORE important than military experience?

I’m sure it’s because the US Constitution appoints the President as “Broker in Chief.” Perhaps you can cite that part of the constitution for me. /sarc

McCain is experienced in betrayal, disloyalty, and dishonesty. That’s about it.
