Very well reasoned, I feel the same way. No McCain at any cost.

I got my coffee mug delivered today, along with two bumper stickers that say “I’m still with Fred” and several other items. I hoped to buy some more things before they shut down. The coffee mug is great.

Comment is not true. It would actually not take long to check a posting history and get a whiff. Most people here do know how to use a computer.

Sorry, Mitt is the better conservative choice.

Ever wonder why he is preferred by 75% of Freepers?

Well, that is why.

Better than what? Not much of an endorsement.

I’ve not been in the habit of following a crowd just to be following.

Which is why I’m still with Fred.

Fred is not with you.
He dropped out. We havent even heard a single word from him since.

Following the crowd in this case, is following the common sense of conservatives on this forum.

If you trust most of the people here, you need to back Romney. It;s the only chance we have to shut down a real backstabbing rino on the loose.

The only thing worse then McCain, is Hildabama. But not by much.

I don’t understand why the negative comments when his mother is sick. He had intended to stay in until super Tuesday. Why do some have to make comments like he is a dirt bag when he is a principled conservative? He finished out his contracts, that shows good character. He loves his family and is committed to them, that shows good character.

********************

I don't understand it either, but it only reflects badly on those who make the negative comments. There are some who cannot even behave well in victory, much less in defeat.

Imho, for the most part, they are best ignored.

I think you are missing the point.

The point is that I use my vote for something other than whining.

I have a problem with the Constitutional party, in that I understand Ron Paul is likely to be their guy.

As a former military guy (top hat, Army, Cav.) I understand the military need for foreward engagements. The isolation policy of Paul is poor military strategy.

Wow, a vote for Myth Romney, that was useful.

Don’t feed the RINOs.

I’m voting issues, not cult of personality.

Right now, here are the issues I think the President will matter on over the next 4 years:

Foreign: WoT, trade, international treaties (think Kyoto II), illegal immigration, revitalizing the military to pre-Clinton levels.

Domestic: SC Justices, illegal immigration (again), budget, economy, vetoing Dem outrages.

Of the people still ACTUALLY RUNNING for the job, Romney voices my views better on the majority of these issues. None of these will be addressed by sitting home and pouting because “my guy” dropped out, so I have no intention of “protesting” by meaningless gestures that only serve to deny me any input at all on these issues for at least 4 years.

You wanna know what “protest voting” gets you? It gets you the 2006 Congress, complete with Harry “We’ve Already Lost” Reid and Nancy “Token Woman” Pelosi. It gets you 20+ more years of at least 2 Ginsberg clones on the USSC. It gets you Obama and Clinton tripping over each other to see who can compromise with islamofascists quickest. It gets you another 30 million illegal aliens. It gets you a pseudo-science based global warming boondoggle that will beggar imagination.

Oh, and it gets you that warm, fuzzy feeling that only self righteousness brings.

Looks to me, your support of Romney, instead of standing hard of conservative issues, got us McCain who will lose to Hillary.

Tactical voting is for suckers.

That choice was out of my hands, courtesy of Iowa, South Carolina and New Hampster. I said long ago, I'd vote for the most conservative of the viable candidates left. My choice was McCain, Romney, Huckleberry, Paul or Keyes. Two of those are viable, one is a spoiler, and two are also-rans.

Since they say “Don’t blame me, I voted for Fred” I think they are all the more germane, given how it appears that a vote for Romney was a vote for McCain.
