Not if they ask me, but then they’re politicians :)
if grocery stores didn't accept foo stamps.... and besides these days they use a debit card
I agree. Morbid obesity results from food addiction. It should be treated as an addiction just like alcoholism or drug dependency. This proposed law equates to a kind of prohibition which doesn’t work. Besides that, it is unconsitutional.
Psst! Buddy! You look like you could use a few fries.....
You would expect this in New York or California...NOT Mississippi. Some research into who introduced the bill ought to be done. I’m going to guess that this is not a native Mississippi individual...and they don’t travel in their state much.
As soon as some enterprising lawyer were to figure out that more women were affected than men, the discrimination lawsuits would start to fly and the legislature would have to repeal this thing. Assuming it became law, which it wont.
Hell, you could get sugar diabetes just by looking at her. I’ll pass. Maybe someone a little closer to warmth in the winter and shade in the summer would be about right.
A good start would be growing a common-sense brain.
Don't hold your breath waiting on Barney Quakebottom to introduce that legislation.
Tell me again how to tell the pubbies and dims apart...
“No Soup For You, fatso”
What are they going to do about drive up windows? Have a fat inspector out looking at every body that goes through the line. What a joke.
Try that and the ACLU will sue.
“......should we also stop serving food to people of a certain skin color”?
Well, since the main obesity problem in Mississippi (and most everywhere else) is concentrated among Blacks, especially poor Black women (Hispanics are hard hit also), thats exactly what would happen.
Miss. was once a Conservative stronghold. The Republican Party in the South was once strongly Conservative. A lot of that is History now. Even in Texas a large number, but not all, of statewide officials (Who are all Republican for now) are Moderate to Liberal as evidenced by our own Guv Rick “Goodhair” Perry who was re-elected by a whopping 39% of the vote in a 4 way race.
lol, don’t ya know, gay life styles are in...
I think I read somewhere there was a percentage point of interest in the obesity factor of those that live on the internet and that often frequent forums.
Is it a defensive gesture?
>> Try that and the ACLU will sue.
These are the types of issues the ACLU should be looking at; preventing obese people from being served food.
Will the restaurants be required to have scales and charts at the front door ?
ACCK! Here I am on FR and I just ate a cookie...now I feel guilty.
I thought that was just on South Park.
Notice how politicians never go after alcoholics?
hmmmm
