Thank you stupid Republicans! We need more like you! Just another sign of what the new conservatives coming to a government near you are up to!

Frankly, I am flummoxed as to why the Republicans aren’t going to take the White House again.

I was living just outside Atlanta in Douglasville in the late 80’s. There was a fried seafood place there that had “All you can” fried catfish on friday nights.

I rarely went but one night in there they kicked or asked him to leave rather this huge 400+ plus black guy out because the owner said that he had eaten too many. She told him that 32 catfish for $6.99 was all she was “givin”. He got real mad about it but ended up leaving before she call the cops.

This guy was eating catfish like that cat on Tom and Jerry. He as practically inhaling them. It was like he was seeing how much he could eat for the money.

LOL

John

It said in the piece the bill is probably DOA. Good thing, this law would of forced the Obese into back alley grocery stores where they could shop then eat at home..and who would protect them from themselves there. They’d then have to pass a law to keep them form buying groceries, and another one to ban food in their homes..Its baffling how people this stupid get elected...Dosen’t say much for the smarts of their constituents either. These dudes are probably career politicians.

Interesting, I was at a company meeting this week and the topic came up among a bunch of guys about city laws outlawing all smoking in restaurants. My partner, who is a great fellow and very republican, sadly was all for it, saying he didn’t want to have to take his two year old daughter into a restaurant and expose her to the smoke.

I pointed out that, first, as private property, the owner has the right to decide whether to allow smoking, and second, he doesn’t have to eat there and is free to go somewhere else. Sadly, I he didn’t seem to grasp the concept.

My next point was that, IMO, there are a lot of lifestyle choices you can engage in that will probably kill you faster than smoking for for a similar amount of time. And one of those is choosing to overeat, take on frank obesity, and be live a sedentary lifestyle.

Therefore, based on logic, I told them I think the state has just as urgent, or even a more urgent rationale for limiting peoples’ diets than stopping them from smoking.

Of course, logic and common sense has long ago ceased to enter into these type issues.

I suspect this is sort of a Rush bill. Illustrating the absurdity of current government preoccupations. As it said in the article, it has no chance to pass.I think the Republicans are saying that this is the logical result of the rhetoric.

“FEBRUARY 1—Mississippi legislators this week introduced a bill that would make it illegal for state-licensed restaurants to serve obese patrons.”

How is it that I just KNOW that this governing body is ruled by Republicans?

Mississippi and the rest of the nanny state fascists can kiss my ample white posterior.

If I enter an eating establishment and I am refused service because my weight exceeds some arbitrarily arrived at numerical ideal, I’m going to make it my life’s work to sue that restaurant and the city where it is located into oblivion.

This kind of rampant stupidity make me sick and anyone who supports it is a DAMNED FOOL.

Bill No. 282, a copy of which you'll find below, is the brainchild of three members of the state's House of Representatives, Republicans W. T. Mayhall, Jr. and John Read, and Democrat Bobby Shows.

Unfrickin' Believable!

Here in Georgia, we thank God for Mississippi, because it keeps us from falling below 49th on various quality-of-life stats. And we thank God for Alabama, because it keeps Mississippi just that much farther away.

Funny. A couple months to go yet before it’s April Fools Day.

Envision this thing passing. (Bush let CFR go, right?) So instead of the possibility of coming indoors and sitting for a healthy meal eaten with utensils, the errand-running obese person must carry the sort of food in his auto that doesn’t require refrigeration or cooking. Fried, processed carbohydrates vacuum sealed in shiny foil bags covered in garish labeling. Good going there, nanny staters. I know 2 rinos and a dem who should be sent to bed without their supper tonight.

I spose if the fatso insists on a hot meal, he can go by the drivethru at any fast food place (lots of good ole transfats & carbs there to keep his cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar spiked) and then eat in his car parked in the lot with the radio on, tossing his wrappers out the window to express his contempt, before resuming his day. Say, maybe the enviroweinies can be coopted to fight this idiocy. It’s all in how you present it. After all, it was sponsored by a coupla republicans (and a dem).

At a shameful time in American history, a black person forced to use the colored service window could assert that his dollar was as green as everyone else’s. Shouldn’t fatty claim that inflation has made his dollar as skinny as everyone else’s, and therefore of equal worth?

Don’t worry ya’ll, it’s still OK to despise a certain group of people on sight without being accused of any “ism.” Ya just gotta pick on the right people.

I think it’s time for a complete change in the way “government” is conducted in this country. Legislators have too much power and too many privileges. They give themselves obscene salaries, exempt themselves from laws that they don’t like, and think that they have the right to tell everyone what to do.
