How anyone can look at the state of this party and country and say "Oh, anytime, now, the Republican party will come around" I don't know. The party will become MORE liberal, not less.

And that is why there is such cry for a new party. That is the new dynamic. I don't know that the Conservatives will care to clean up the Republicans after the crater this coming November.

You can play the cool game, but the world is racing past you in race cars while you're sitting there in a go-cart not understanding that the wheels came off a ways back.

Conservatives are well aware of the conditions. It is the others, sure of their "Anyone but Hillary" mantra that will get a skooling.

It cannot be changed- the only compromise the Conservatives have ever had between themselves is the Reagan Coalition- That IS the compromise. That is why rock-ribbed Reagan Conservatives adhere to their principles so vociferously- They understand how tenuous that compromise is.

What you see today is not a failure of Conservatism, but a failure of the pragmatism of "electability".
