I favor six regions drawn from a hat to determine order of execution. Six fixed dates assigned according to the order.

This assures that all the regions will get their time in the sun, with candidates speaking specifically to regional problems and solutions in a coherent manner.

I am afraid that a single voting date would tend to allow the candidates to only go where the votes are and would leave us in much the same state of affairs as we endure right now, if not worse, as only populous (read RINO) areas would get the grease, and then only in the more populous states.

Oh, yeah, that's just what we need -- even more months and years of hot air followed by no time to adjust.

Thanks for the props. One way or another, the article in the OP is true- The current system is hopelessly tilted in favor of liberal candidates.

“Reagan carried the youth vote. There was an army of us twenty-somethings in 1980 who became life long conservatives because of RR.”

I’m one of those.

“its time for the GOP to front-load the whole freaking process into one date.”

That would only help “national canidates” -— i.e. MSM RINO darlings, like Rudy.

The key would be to move the primaries of TX, OK, and LA to the “the day before NH.” It’s a solid southwest block that could not be ignored.

Change the primary rules. Get rid of winner take all voting, don’t compress the primary schedule, and restrict primary voting to registered Reps. If we do that, we will have a party nominee who will have the support of most of our party. Prior to Tuesday’s voting, McCain had won only 31% of the total primary vote and had become the “presumptive” nominee of the party.

Or better yet, still use the power of the staggered primaries but put the most conservative states first.

Exactly. There is a clear advantage to the progressive system. All this guy shows, if anything, is that the wrong states get to go first.

As am I. My first Presidential vote was for Reagan in ‘84. I also voted for Hunter in that one, as I was in his district then.
